Vinny, I hear your point but, the price does not matter of the vehicle. Cars in driveways longterm once again JMHO, present a look of unkept. I guess years of seeing my vehicles lined up dress right dress in the Motor Pool has tainted me, but when I look down a road and see vehicles in the drive, the area just looks cheap. Case in point there is a new Housing Area they just built right Off-Post. The homes are similiar to our CYVs, and VERY upscale. They all have garages but none use them, when you look down that road, it just does not present itself as a classy upscale neighborhood. Also, look at your TV video, when they show Homes and street shots, all vehicles are off the driveways!
Your comparison of how people go to restaurants does not really fit, as I can choose not to go to a place like that if I do not want to!

I came from an area where people parked everything including oil trucks in there driveway or the road even on their front lawns. As was stated earlier when I saw the video of TV it looked soo nice with no vehicles anywhere. I realize there's a storage problem and not everybody fits in the garage because of size etc. I'm just saying it looks so much nicer without. If you must you must. As for the road watch your deed restriction. A neighbor had a vist from community watch followed by the sheriff. So read your restrictions not everything is allowed in the road or your driveway. TV is a nice neat community lets ALL work together to keep it that way.

Just for the sake of discussion, what happens if you have friends or family who drive down in two separate vehicles to visit? Where do they hide their vehicles to keep up the appearance of your home?

In a CYV, there is only one option, and that is they use the designated overflow parking areas, That is IAW Deed Restrictions for CYVs.

There's a world of difference between what you are describing and cars parked in the driveway.

TV has restrictions against parking in the yard and extended parking on the roadway! People in TV are permitted to park in their driveways; and as you point out, it's still a nice, neat community.

I suggest that it's you problem if it offends you. If you think the promotional video is your proof that all vehicles should be in the garage then I have a orange bridge in SF to sell you (all advertising is sterile) .

The point I was trying to make, perhaps poorly, is that your definition of trashy is purely subjective and apparently not accepted by the powers upon high since we are allowed to park our cars in our driveways despite some pretty strict restrictions in place to keep TV from looking trashy. Why even have a driveway if not to keep a car on it? Might as well just have the garages open up onto a street or make the driveway very short to save on pavement cost. Seems that throughout TV the intention was to provide parking space for cars as the driveways are sized accordingly. Perhaps a lifetime of living on military bases has colored your perception of what is trashy. I have probably not moved around as much as you did but in my 13 moves there was never any negative connotation associated with leaving your car in your driveway. Most people used their garage for storgage. :D

Yep It's true and I cannot deny it. I double checked and the house, garage AND driveway belong to me. I also checked my pink slip and the car belongs to me too. Now that to me suggests that since both the car and apron belong to me, it's no one else's business if MY car is on MY apron.

Like wise for my neighbors. I keep my nose out of their business and expect the same courtesy in return. Nuff said !

Who knew this could turn into pages and pages.....
I have a vacuum cleaner. And I have a house with a living room. Now I bet everyone would agree that I am well within my rights to keep that vacuum in the living room if I choose. I may even have a really good reason for doing so (my closets are full of junk and there's no room; I have multiple cleaners for different jobs; I like to have it "ready" so I can just get up and go....) but I think most would agree that my living room would be more attractive without a vacuum cleaner parked next to the sofa. I think cars are just cars, not a design element. Now MelZ's MG IS a nicknack and SHOULD be parked in the drive.
I don't care what anybody wears to the pool. I don't care if you wear brown socks with sandals. I don't care if you keep the litterbox in the kitchen. And I don't care where you park your car........
