Amazing
What a great moment for a whole bunch of folks that made it happen. Through each phase I suspect every individual had a mix of excitement a little bit of apprehension that the smallest thing could go wrong.
Let's watch the overwhelming media coverage this gets as compared to bad things that happen in the world |

NASA can still get it done. I hated to see the "cut backs" in the Space Program. A lot of good has come from it. Instead we waste Billions across the pond.

Did anybody else stay up to watch the landing? It was a nailbiter landing for sure. The entry & landing engineering worked flawlessly. We were almost as excited as the NASA/JPL/Cal Tech team & so surprised that the pictures came back so quickly! Hooray!

It is sadly conspicuous by it's absence in almost all media.....so far today anyway. Certainly doesn't warrant main stream media priority....it is not bloody enough or politically trashy enough to warrant much attention.
In my humble opinion this event ranks right up there with the olympics or maybe above it. btk |

A fellow student in my ninth grade who was a big sci-fi fan asked the teacher if she thought we would ever have a man go the moon. Are you serious, that's 229,000 thousand miles away. There's is no chance as we could never get something that heavy to leave the earth atmosphere. Now we land a craft on Mars. Amazing.

I think this is great!! I can't wait to start seeing pictures. I feel so fortunate that this is happening in my lifetime. Just like the walk on the moon. Can anyone imagine what will be happening 50 to 100 years from now?

That was really great to see. It seems like NASA has been getting a bad rap lately. It's good to see them back in the news for something positive.

multi million miles and months away and they nail it. Even had another orbiting satellite take pictures of the pod with it's chute deployed heading toward the surface.
When one tries to contemplate the mechanicals and all their interfaces, the software, timing it just really is a fete that can be discussed wand watched for hours. They did do about 3.5 minutes on NBC mainstream news tonight...finally. The accomplishment just restores ones faith in American technology and capability........just think what could be done for mankind if only a fraction of the trillions being spent could be on technology and America's future. Maybe....someday....again!!! btk |
