Marvel Comics' Stan Lee Dies At 95 : NPR

I hope that the put him in digitally to various upcoming Marvel movies. Just saw him give the hint of his giving a haircut to Thor in Thor: Ragnarok. This was while I was donating platelets.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this. Stan Lee was best friends with my mother's first cousin, Ken Bald. In this youtube clip, Stan is praising him (on his 95th birthday). As Stan says, Ken was a powerfully good looking man (think Tyrone Power) -- his wife, Kaye Dowd Bald, a beautiful woman, was an actress and model. Stan's wife was beautiful also. She and Kaye were best friends too.

I need to make that phone call to them asap, not only to offer condolences on the loss of his friend but to have what will most certainly be a final contact. They probably won't remember who I am but when I say cousin Catherine's daughter, it will hopefully spark some recollections. I was just a little girl when I attended all the pool parties and family reunions that they held. And I was in my late 20's/early 30's when I attended their children's weddings.

Great clips by which to remember them.

Not surprising if you were not into comic books. Here's a really good article about the characters he created:

I have loved many of his movies over the past decade or so.

Did not know Sheldon was a fan.

My friend Twila used to talk about The Big Bang Theory but have only seen bits and pieces of a few episodes and heard a lot about other of these shows from Twila.

Twila could have used her own sit com she was so entertaining to many of her friends.

I think in one episode Stan Lee gets a restraining order against Sheldon.

Actually with some of the "stars" I am in contact with via Facebook it sometimes should be the other way around. Only sometimes though.

I have not been anywhere near Hollywood itself since walking through a TJ Hooker TV production set to get to the Pasadena Public Library for a job interview. The were shooting some scenes in front of the library. This would have been around 1985.

No sign of William Shatner nor Heather Locklear though.
