So now I have to strap on the hook, peg leg and call the parrot to my shoulder to obtain it again :). You'd think with Prime, Paramount+, Hulu+Live, Netflix, and HBOMax that one of them would have a free, streamable 50 year old movie that I OWNED at one point. Back then movies cost a LOT of money to buy. $30 in 1980, is the same as $95 today. I'm not paying for it again.

Oh boy...THAT one is a real tearjerker, so "heartwarming", funny, poignant, and pulls emotions - but in a generally wonderful happy way.

The cast is simply great as well.

David Duchovny
Minnie Driver
Carroll O'Connor
Robert Loggia
Bonnie Hunt
David Alan Grier
Jim Belushi

"A Walk in the Woods".

Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. Some good chuckles and some stunning scenery.

Based on a true story about two older guys who attempt to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine.

I used to hike and backpack the White Mountains in NH, but never attempted this incredible journey.

During the "Covid year" we have watched more movies at home than ever. We have DirecTV and check ahead the next week or so on channels that may have movies playing of interest and DVR them. We also have Netflix. So typically on many nights we watch one. Some are "stinkers" and we bail out early, others are "keepers" and hit the right tone for us.

Last night we watched "Wonder". It was so heartwarming. From 2017, with Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and some wonderful young actors. We DVRd it from channel 'Freeform' on D-TV, but no doubt avail from other platforms. The movie> 'Based on the New York Times bestseller, this movie tells the incredibly inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters the fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time.'

It's so well done, and pulls you through all emotions. This should be shown at all elementary schools.

Highly recommend it.

Sartorial slovenliness!

LOL. You are such a Brit. (I mean that kindly)

You know that all Yankees are born in "trainers".

I'll chime in with 'Hidalgo' and 'War Horse'. I love stories about how wonderful animals can be, wish more humans tried to be the same..

I agree about the movie. Also the book is excellent as well.
