RIP John Havlicek
Sad to see one of the all time great basketball players pass away at 79 years old from Parkinson's disease. Bummer: (

A pro's pro. Never about him, always about the team. Could do it all. Rebound, score, assist. I think he could have been an all-pro tight end. Sad.

He was just interviewed by Ed Henry in Florida. I watched it an hour ago. It was with many Old Time Basketball Greats. I will PM you the channel. R.I.P.

Great as a Celtic of course.
Plus an integral part of one of the great college basketball teams of all time...the '60-'62 Buckeyes! No prejudice here at all. Wait...I meant to say...LOTS of prejudice here!! |

I can still hear Johnny Most exclaiming HAVLICEK STOLE THE BALL!!! There were some super exciting Celtic's games in the 60's. Good memories.

I still remember the call like it was yesterday. What a classic moment. Johnny Most was the best (if you liked the Celtics) or worst (if you didn't). But Hondo, he was by far one of the best basketball players of all time. Grit, hustle, tenacity, and a non stop motor. The all time leading scorer from the greatest professional basketball franchise in history. RIP Hondo!
