Default Scam alert

If you see local ads from Mia34Cowley@gmail.com it seems this person is scamming for your personal information. Be aware.

How were you tipped off? I was going to cut, paste and search the address but now I'm having second thoughts. Do you know how they can gather information if you don't open an attachment or download anything?

She emailed me about something I posted as wanted...if it is a she. Said she was in a medical military group departing soon and wanted my personal info and would ship the item to my home. I checked her email on google and two people said she was scamming. No more wanted ads for me.

Thanks we searched the TOTV users and do not show any registered users with this email.

Remember: Don't put your email in the body of your ad. If you only put them in our fields when you list your item, then ONLY registered users of TOTV can have access to the contact info you allow. If you put information in the body of your ad on any website then anyone can access that.

ONLY registered users on TOTV can contact another user who has an item for sell. This is a feature ONLY on TOTV and we do this to add another level of privacy and security!

Best Regards,

TOTV Team

Once your email address and phone number has been acquired from a hacked data base you will get literally dozens of scam emails and phone calls monthly and there is NOTHING that you can do to stop it.
Do not click on links on emails from people or sources you do not know. Delete them. You will get emails from FedEx as an example. Totally bogus. You will get calls from what appear to be local phone numbers. Do not answer them unless you recognize the caller. Caller ID and voice mail can be a barrier to predatory calls.
If you think any of your information is private, search your name or anyone’s name on the internet. Your information has been monetized and phone numbers and email addresses can be found on various websites along with other so called private but now public information.

My email address was on a club officer web site that was hacked. Now I get about 5-10 phishing emails a day. All appear to come from weird addresses composed of long strings of random characters. Fortunately aol puts them into my spam folder, so I can delete them in bulk. What a nuisance. Since that hack, we've taken the contact info off the club site.
