I think you don’t understand. Said price of one bottle had jumped to $24, so buy 2 at $24 each, $48. That’s $16 per bottle (the regular price without sales.)

I've never observed this. I worked for Publix for a year and never saw a single employee wearing earbuds while on the clock. Any employee caught doing it would've been immediately pulled off the floor and reprimanded. It's against policy. In ANY language.
