Default Water Softener

Can anyone give me any advice on a NUVO water softener system. I have a plumber that has highly recommended but I would like to hear from home owners that actually have it and can share their experience.

I can answer about water softeners in general.

All softeners are ion exchangers. The resin attracts the unwanted minerals that are attached to the H2O molcule. The resin becomes saturated and is 'cleaned' by a way of saltwater, followed by a rinse of water. Any softener does this, the 500.00 model at Home Depot does this.

The only difference between any model is the size of the resin tank, the means the timer is powered (some use water) and whatever give whiz feature like wifi connectivity.

In light of this the 5,000.00 softener is not superior in at significant way than the 500.00 model.

If you want a softener system get one. Many companies are selling filter systems without the softener, these will not soften your water. Typical system has a filter/charcoal canister before the softener to take the chlorine and some other impurities out of the water. Just the filter system some companies are selling are only filter and take the chlorine will not take the minerals out.
