I must be getting old. I remember when my income was twenty-five cents a week-my allowance. I could buy a slice of pizza and a small soda for that.

We mostly forget the other side. My dad was supporting a family of four. We were on the poor side but didn't know it. My father was earning about $100 a week.

When my father broke the $100 a week barrier, we joined the Country Club.

One thing I marvel at is when you buy fresh spinach to saute. The container it comes in is huge and it looks like so much, but then it's maybe enough for 2 ppl BC of the way it cooks down.
I can't even imagine how much space fresh spinach takes up in restaurant walk ins where they cook it for say 200-250 dishes in a service.

That's one of the things that is just not the same frozen. Whereas, I think certain veggies are better frozen.

On average, people lose 0.4 inches in height every 10 years after age 40.

Toilet paper is the worst one. Can't cut back on my need to use it unfortunately.

When I bought a fifth of whisky it was 25.6 oz. Now what looks like a fifth bottle is 750 ml which is 25.361 oz. Talk about downsizing!

I wish that loss worked for my waist which seems to gain in size about half an inch every 10 years!

So, if I live long enough, I won't be allowed on many of the rides at the theme parks.

I think that is due to our spinal discs drying up. It is even worse for those poor souls suffering from camptocormia.

My parents had 8 children. Growing up, I remember my mother telling us to use 4 squares of toilet paper (small rear ends), instead of grabbing the end and whipping off two feet or more. My needs have grown, so to speak, but I still try to be thrifty.
