Default Sinemia Movie Plan

Has anyone tried the Sinemia Movie Plan in The Villages? It is similar to Moviepass. They offer an option where you can get 2 tickets per month for $7.99, billed annually, no blackout dates, use at any theater. I've cancelled my movie pass due to the recent restrictions they enacted.

Since residents pay $8.50 that’s only a $.51 savings per movie or $1.01 per month if I understand it correctly. Don’t know if I would go for that for such minimal savings.

Unless it's $7.99 for two movies...

I thought the name was a typo for "Cinema". It's $7.99 a month BILLED ANNUALLY per their web page. So you have to pay ~$96 up front and if they go down the tubes you're SOL. After M.P. experience with a yearly payment up front I think I'll "pass" (no pun intended).

Edit: If you want to pay monthly there is a $20 "initiation fee."

It is $7.99 per month for two movies, with NO initiation fee, and as the website says, billed annually. So when you watch your 2 movies you save $9 per month. Apparently the company has been doing well in Europe for several years and they are trying to expand into the U.S. I'm just wondering if anyone in The Villages has used it, and how clunky the app might be.

If you pay every month, according to their website it is $19.99 initiation fee. If you pay a year up front there is no $19.99 fee. You need to push the little yearly/monthly button on top to see. Click on images below to expand. If they have some special private deal or coupon code that's another story but this is from the website 5 minutes ago,

PAY MONTHLY (W/$19.99 INITIATION FEE):

The Villages Florida

PAY 1 YEAR UP FRONT (NO $19.99 INITIATION FEE):

The Villages Florida

The day I looked at it the $7.99 price per month was based on an annual rate with NO initiation fee.

I am not posting here to discuss the price, I am posting to see if anyone has used the service. Apparently you have not, so thanks anyways.

No problem, you're welcome. As Sgt Joe Friday once said "Just the facts, only the facts""
