As for the OP.
We have a 2009 Volvo XC60 Lux. 67,592 miles.
Not even 'run in' yet, and will probably see wife and off to our journey to Valhalla!

That might not be difficult to do. Take your pick from a list I found in The Journal of Travel Medicine (1992).

Cholera Typhoid/paratyphoid Tuberculosis Plague Brucellosis LeptospirosisTyphus Leprosy
Diphtheria Meningococcal disease Tetanus Parotiditis Syphilis/gonorrhea Diarrhea (allcauses)
Influenza Polio Yellow Fever Encephalitis (VEE) Rabies
Herpes Influenza Measles Mumps Rubella Dengue SIDA Leishmaniasis Chagas Malaria
Paragonimiasis Echinococcosis Onchocercosis Cysticercosis

You left out wucheriasis, brugeiasis, schistosomiasis and trypanosomiases to name a few off the top of my head. (Although technically not the latter, since Chagas disease is Trypanosoma cruzi, but significantly different from the African varieties T. gambiense and T. rhodesiense). However, most on that list are not endemic to Ecuador. I'd be more interested in how their "excellent" healthcare system handles 3 vessel CAD(coronary artery disease) or even a CAP(community acquired pneumonitis) or SIE(stroke in evolution). See how well "cheaper" serves you then.

I get all sorts of offers in mail. Offers and actually what will pay two different horses.

Another is this is closer to my wives family, which is important.

Yes, America does have SOME of the best healthcare that money can buy, so some come here (not all, the best healthcare in the world is in Spain) but that best that money can buy, doesn't help the 40 million Americans that are citizens of the richest country in the world and can't afford and so don't have healthcare at all. I am glad you got yours, sucks to be them doesn't it. I know, I know, they ALL are lazy and made bad life choices. Such a Christian country we live in, where 6 million children go to bed hungry every night.

And by spiraling down, I meant if politics continue to spiral down, we will leave. This is no longer the welcoming friendly country I grew up in and at my age, I prefer to like my neighbors, which in Ecuador was easier to do.

Bye.

Do they have Dunkin Donuts in Ecuador? Do they have a fourth of July?

Yes, they have Dunkin' Donuts in Ecuador.

I think that there is a July 4th on the calendar everywhere. If you asking about their Independence Day, it's August 10th.
