I thought Brady’s insight as a Super Bowl quarterback was particularly intriguing and insightful. What he said about being extremely nervous struck a nerve with me. Three-peat nervous pressure seemed exactly what Mahomes was feeling most of the game. No doubt it takes a team, in addition, to a superstar quarterback to three-peat.

Not exactly sure why thread was closed, but I wanted to ask; did anyone feel there might have been something else going on with the Chiefs? As Brady mentioned there was practically no pass protect. The team left Mahomes open to attack. The Eagles didn't even have to blitz. It was very difficult for him to do anything.

KC offensive line was offensive and Mahomes had a bad day running for his life over and over.

Shocking how few running plays KC ran before score got away from them.

A friend of mine (elderly) made a comment about the halftime show, and it got me to thinking. His point: Who can afford tickets to the Super Bowl? The super rich or corporations? Would they be the ones who would be happy with the halftime show? I thought maybe the NFL was trying to make things more enticing for the younger crowd (as in the new sports added to the Olympics), but will that demographic, bring any money in? I don't know the answer, and maybe I'm missing something.

I don't pay much attention to the halftime show because it's too hard to hear, even when it's a performer I'm familiar with. But I think a rap like this was fast and too hard to understand. I had to go read about it.

While the tickets are expensive, I doubt they really amount to much in the grand scheme of things. Commercial spots bring in a huge amount of money and advertisers want customers. Attracting a younger audience to watch the show and see the commercials is what justifies the $8M price tag.

Halftime
 

It was awful as most Super Bowl halftime shows usually are. Why can’t they put on someone who, first of all, you can understand and second of all that appeals to the average viewer and not to just teens.

Actually, he was performing the song 'Not like Us' as a diss to his big time competitor Drake.
He EVEN managed to get Serena Williams (who is married) to come out and do a "Crip walk" to ADD to the Diss of her Former boyfriend Drake, even though her sister was killed by a Crip.
I just shook my head and thought, the NFL our who've booked this fiasco is complicent in this gang type culture war.

Not one person, young or old was singing along with the vulgarity of kendrick lamar.

Just a few:
- He performed a dozen songs
- This is not the first time the superbowl has seen a Crip Walk
- This is not the first time Serena Williams has performed a Crip Walk
- Though I could not understand much of the half time broadcast, I was able to hear what sounded like the entire stadium singing along during one part of the show

I know a 60 year old and a 30 year old who enjoyed the show, it seemed like those in attendance enjoyed the show, and many positive articles have been written about the show. The show doesn't need my defense, it is standing on it's own very well.

I feel sorry for our younger generation for watching the worse halftime show ever.

You’ve made my point for me: I’m not interested. It’s a halftime show. Not a cultural documentary. I’m not commenting on the message or the production. Knowing your audience is key to a good performance. If you want to see Paul McCartney and he played Taylor Swift all evening, you would not enjoy it. Is my analogy off here a bit? Yes. But in the interest of getting on with my day, I’ll let it make my point - for now.

The younger generation overwhelmingly loved the halftime show, they don't need your pity. Also a good percentage of our generation (I'm 80) loved it as well. The performance was powerful and dramatic. I love Bob Dylan and Italian Opera also and both often require a script to understand the words.

That proves an old statement, "different strokes for different folks"!

I seriously hope they do better next year with their half time show. I don’t even know young people who liked it.

I would like to see confirmed stats re “overwhelmingly”. From all reports I have seemed the stadium audience overwhelmingly panned the performance. And the comment re a “good percentage” of 80 year olds loved it,,, What national poll was that? Just sayin.

So I have never heard of a “crip walk” so I looked it up:

Nope. In my native European country in general, and when I was teaching school here for decades, sports were used to motivate youth to be healthier, happier, more cooperative, team work etc. So the “message” of the Super Bowl is unimaginable to me. So what’s next? Glorifying drug lords?
