Re: CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
I know the NBA-like finish will blur the memory, but until the last few minutes it looked more like the Miami and KC offenses were out there. Both QBs missed wide open receivers and receivers dropped ball they should have caught. But both defenses were good, NY exceptional. The MVP award should have gone to the Giant defense as a unit. They made Brady & Co. look like the Jets.
But I called it right, so that's all that matters. 040 :hot: 040 :hot: 040 :hot: 040

Re: CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
We did it. We took the 18-0 Patriots and sent them to the non-19-0 team!
Love them Giants!! If you are counting that is three Rings. Great game. GO Giants! Bill

Re: CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
Sorry to break the news, but Miami is NOT the first or only team to go undefeated.
The Cleveland Browns did it in approx. 1948. Unfortunately, this was just before the leagues merged and the NFL has not recognized this feat. There is a petition being started by an Ohio congressman to have this recognized. Let's give credit where credit is due. In those days preceding and right after the merger, Cleveland was the dominant team. As a Clevelander, I am waiting....and waiting for a repeat. So are my sons who have never experienced a winner. JM

Re: CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
Jerrym,
You're right. As an ex Clevelander, I remember some of the record. The Browns were 15-0 in 1948. I think they won 24 straight games and ruled the league for 3 straight years. I think their league was the AAFC and the NFL didn't acknowledge the records of the AAFC even though three teams, the Browns, Colts, and the 49ers were absorbed into the NFL in 1950.

Re: CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
Jerrym, I just thought of something else. Weren't the Browns 10-6 this season? That's the same record the Giants had going into the playoffs, isn't it?

Re: CONGRATULATIONS NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS
Okay, fine:
MIAMI ONLY OFFICIAL UNDEFEATED TEAM Better? I will admit that if any team has to match or better Miami's record, I'm glad it's the Browns. I've always liked that team.
