So, who still thinks this 'bomb cyclone' weather event, that triggered so much devastation (and which has just begun, as more spring melting takes place)...was "over-hyped?"

Bomb Cyclone (poke here)

The "bomb cyclone" storm that bloated rivers as it roared through much of the Midwest last week combined with spring snowmelt Sunday to drive some Midwest rivers to record levels and forced people in hundreds of homes to evacuate.

While there may be a few Floridians raising their hands right now, I don't think you'll find too many of even those still saying it...once the full ramifications to farmers and "our country's breadbasket" are calculated.

We can't relate the weather that is happening right now to what was going on when we were kids. Walking to school in February with the snot freezing the insides of your nose together was one thing. This is different. People are losing power for weeks. Storms are stronger. More people are dying. This isn't your grandmother's weather.

Yep.

With so many historical records being broken, or equaled, in so many places in recent years...this IS the 'new normal.'

Even though, my record of walking to school 50 miles every day, one-way, up-the-mountain in both directions...will probably never be broken.

I just thought it went, along with having only a t-shirt at -30 and 40mph winds...without saying.

I think that Bille was saying the weather is often overhyped. The local weather, the national weather. And sometimes meteorologists present forecasts that prove to be very accurate.

And as for the other issues on this thread.

I think that most people believe in Global warming, and that greenhouse gases destroy the ozone layer. I think many people think there is something we can do to change that.

It is HOW they think it can be changed that makes people stressed.

Some think that industrialization is the cause. Industrialization has cut poverty and hunger in half since 1990.

Some people think that giving large sums to organizations will change things.

Some people believe that this is a very complex problem with no easy or presently effective solutions.

By the way. Did any of you read the National News? I am anxious to see what's in that report.
