Watch out, here come the "Owner's Suite" police. I can't believe I took the time to read this, except I needed a chuckle.

As the "master" of my domain I shall continue to call it the master bedroom. That is as long as my wife says it's ok.

I have always admired strong women . Men and women should compliment one another. it makes for a more productive and enjoyable experience.

But the sort of think with owners suite vis a vis master bedroom, seasonal residents vis a vis snow birds , chair person vis a vis chairman is not only silly it is cumbersome and the banality gets in the way of achieving intented goals.

To me sometime you lead and sometime you follow means you understand yourself and you are confident of who you are.

What if the house is a rental. Can the tenant use the "owner's suite"?

The bonus room may no longer be suggested as a perfect room for a "Man Cave".....it shall now be known as a "Person Cave".

All kidding aside, I do not want to ever offend anyone, and while I may have my own personal views, I understand a person's lifestyle is not my business.
I would think though that any person regardless of their choices would understand that the above terms are just universally used and not meant to be offensive. There is such a thing as being "overly P.C.".

Respectfully, Frank

Right on. You said it all.

We watch that new homes channel where they have to choose one out of three homes..........and get a kick out of the "man cave" criteria in purchasing a home these days.

The young couples are SO FUSSY compared to how we were "back in the day". Some of the homes are like mini castles.

My husband's garage is his sanctuary..........and he's had plenty of game rooms, family rooms, rec rooms, great rooms BUT NEVER A MAN CAVE.

He's got a "shed" too if that counts for anything........but that's about it.
Oh, he has his own little third bathroom as his "reading room" but no man cave. All of our plumbers, carpenters, workmen LOVE THAT LITTLE BATHROOM.

Oh dear, now the grammar will require an apostrophe, but where does it go? As I am single, mine shall be an Owner's Suite, while multiple owners will have an Owners' Suite.
I do hope staff do not err in this regard.

A man might like to think it's his master bedroom only if his wife say's it's ok. :jester:

Jack Benny biography said that his wife Sadie Marks, later Mary Livingston allowed him the smallest bedroom in the house. Her dressing area was larger than his bedroom and he was the sole supporter of the house.

Sounds right to me!

This is pretty funny I guess years ago we didnt know we were being offended we had to have someone tell us. I dont remember my parents having a master bedroom it was just a bedroom not to enter. The other thing is the commercial for Boys Town, will that have to change. Cant wait to do away with mens and womens public restrooms. Yes this world is getting stupid. Forest Gump was really smart.

I think this is more about coming up with a new, catchy name for something....rather than trying to be pc. But I have seen it used a few times, but always in the very high-end homes.

Whatever happened to "rumpus rooms"? Remember those? Did they evolve into the "family room"?
