I think alot of us have a skeleton or 2 in our closet.
Yea, he did some bad things, but it's his life & he has bigger people than us that he'll have to answer to. It's not up to me to judge him. He hurt himself & those that are close to him. I'm sure he'll work very hard in getting his life back on track. I'm just anxious to see him playing golf again. In fact, I bet alot of the players want that as well. I would think this will be one of the most watched games in along time !!!

I for one am glad to see him back, and if you asked the other players, I think most of them are also glad. After all, with Tiger playing, their paydays are potentially a lot bigger.

:agree::agree: Very well put, actor. Unfortunately, there will always be "naysayers" who continually thrive on controversy.

Why would anyone want to watch the LPGA instead of the best golfer in the world. His comeback at the Masters is exciting and I'll watch every minute of it. If you have a problem with infidelity you should probably boycott the NFL. NHL,NBA. By the way, Not everyone on the LPGA Tour is True Blue! The only thing straight about many of them is their Tee shots.

cashman 04-05-2010 03:34 PM

Tiger is still good for golf

To suggest otherwise is emotional hypocracy.

The guy is the best golfer in the world.

He asked for forgiveness. Any real Christian will give him another chance.

All of golf wants him back.

Golf gets a little boring sometimes without him.

God bless Tiger, his family and bless also the poor souls who say bad things about him. These poor souls must be perfect. I have never met such a person and have no interest in doing so.

Time will tell....we shall see.

As for golf being boring without Tiger Woods, there are millions who watch the greats who seem to be able to play at or above Tiger's level to win tournaments.
As Arnie Palmer said....golf is bigger than just one man. I sit with Arnold Palmer.

Some how golf managed quite well before he appeared on the scene, without folks labeling it boring, and it will certainly do well after he fades into the sunset (or whatever).

I hope he has learned something....we'll see....as the saying goes you can rearrange the spots on a leopard and when you get done you still have a leopard. As pointed out above the same no doubt applies to.....tigers.

we'll see.

The Masters

All the hoopla concerning Tiger's return to golf is just that, the media play. No one will convince me that Tiger is larger than Golf and for that reason it is his privilege to return and play with his peers. We as guests, if you will, are also privileged to watch the play of one of the most famous tournaments and root for whomever we wish. But to allow ourselves to sit in judgment of another human being is wrong. Be gentle, forgiving, and remember it is only a game.

Attendance and advertising provides income to the golfers. All of this income has dropped 18% without Tiger. The players, Sponsors and the PGA want him back. Once in awhile another player may reach Tigers quality of golf But that is all.

You are using spots as an analogy to sins. Are you suggesting that none of the other pro golfers or pros in other sports have done what Tiger did.
If so that would be good because if we followed you theory On tiger we would not need any of them to be playing.

Personally I could care less about his private life. Have not watched golf on TV since he quit playing but I will watch this weekend because he is back. For the record, everyone who is involed in professional golf including the players and workers will be happy he is back, their paychecks will go up. % of people watching golf will be its highest of all time this weekend. Like it or not, Tiger is the $$$$$ man.

Great thought!!!! He made a big mistake, how many times must we hear it, I am sure most of it is true, but like movies alot is also dramatized.. The fact is, if the media left it alone, it would make the world alot better, You can only beat up a dead skunk so much.

The Masters is a wonderful event, security has always been tight and they have never allowed alot of BS to go on. It will most likely be the most watched event in golfing's recent history. But the media will make it that way, Not Tiger. I really hope he does really good, woud love to see him win.
He mad the mudhole, he dove in it.. He has admitted to it, dealing with it, and like he said will always be reminded of it and always be dealing with it regaurdless of how much help and forgiveness he gets, due to the media.

It will be nice to see him play along with the others, seems to me from interviews most if not all the players are fine with it and welcome him.

Today's paper had an article that sounded that they are not going to let it go and are going to harp on it all week long. Either I am gone or the sound is gone.

I guess you don't remember the duldrums of the early-mid 90's. Attendance was waning. Sponsorship was drying up. The media was calling for a new 'face' to revive golf.

Then here comes Tiger - In 12 years sponsorship money is up almost 10 fold. Player purses are almost 7 fold. The economy has hurt things but it will come back.

Yeah - THEY (sponsors, players, charities) want him back! At least until the next Tiger comes along.

Grill Meister 04-06-2010 01:02 PM

I know we will all cry

I disagree...."true golfers" will be watching the Masters...Tiger or no....we love golf and enjoy watching the pros tee it up.

As for those of you who opt not to watch because Tiger is play....I know that the sponsors will have a good cry over your absence.

And...I agree...."let he who is without sin cast the first stone"

billethkid 04-06-2010 01:31 PM

Cashman...my reference to spots had no inference or relationship or intent

or thought about sins.....NONE what so ever....
My commentary was face value...spots...leopard...rearrange the spots...still a leopard...has all to do with the persona and that ONLY. Very simply stated with no hidden intent....a person/animal is what he/she/it is...

I do not believe in oblique messaging.
