Default A tribute to our Grandson, Q.

Gene McKelvey is a friend from Principal Financial in Des Moines, who came down, along with three other good friends, to the visitation for our late grandson, Quentin in January. Gene is a graphic artist, and had done a drawing of all our grandchildren several years ago, that I commissioned and gave to Lila for her birthday. After the visitation Gene graciously offered to do a composite drawing of Quentin as a memorial, because he was moved to do something. He just completed the drawing and brought it to our house, along with his wife Margaret, and presented it to us this past weekend. In it he drew Quentin's portrait, surrounded by the letter "Q", his nickname, and other pictures from his life. We were very moved by this unbelievable gesture, and told him that we would present the picture to our daughter, Jonna, which we did this morning. He had a digital copy made for us that we will have framed and display proudly. Gene and Margaret are terrific people and will always have a special place in our hearts.

Beautiful tribute, Ed. It always amazes me how kind and considerate friends and acquaintances can be at our time of need. I have seen it so many times with friends here in the Villages also.

Ed, it must be a great source of comfort for you to know that you have a friend like Gene that would take the time to do something special like this for you and your grandson. Thanks for sharing!

It seems like yesterday that everyone was praying for Quentin, but God had other plans.

Wonderful tribute to him. I can only imagine how painful your loss still is, but.....
someday you, your wife and family will all be reunited with your grandson......

Until then...............

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.

May you use the gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us."

God Bless you and yours
