You are still claiming the absence of evidence is evidence of absence. You are still wrong. Absence of evidence shows nothing except we have no evidence.

Now, if you wish to claim you are holding a faith based belief, then no problem. Believe anything you want, just know it is purely faith based.

Purposely placing arbitrary limits on human inventions is silly...just like it was when people insisted humans could never fly through the air.

Life is a fact , my understanding is our sun is a second perhaps third generation , that does not give any guidance as to how common life is or likely for intelligence to develop, certainly we can not be sure as to all the possible forms of life under what conditions . A large number of things had to occur for life as we know it here, one data point tells little about likelihood. Our experience here tell us intelligent life is a very recent thing . Environmentalist tell us we are well on our way to extinguishing ourselves, could be intelligence is self limiting, any number of scenarios could take us out or the whole planet or send everything back to start. With only the very limited knowledge and time span how can we be sure of much of anything. The idea of ET visitors has little to substantiate it.

"Absence of evidence shows nothing except we have no evidence."

Well, I can't argue with that. Using that logic one can believe in anything. No evidence required.

We are going to have to agree to disagree. But if evidence of UFOs being piloted by alien intelligence ever springs up, happy to admit I was wrong. But right now, nothing tells me that I am. Cheers.

Please don't mock my deep and abiding belief in Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster, the Abominable Snow Man and the Great Pumpkin :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

I won't mock your beliefs if you don't mock mine. It's 5 o'clock! I believe I'll have a scotch, neat!

We were very upset that on our cruise of Loch Ness, Nessie refused to come out and play

Of course. Gives a new twist to BBQ ribs. Humans taste like pork. Ah, or so I've been told. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘ฝ

I heard that too.

For a particularly graphic twist, see "The Dead Lands", a movie about pre-European Maori people in New Zealand. All Maori actors with English subtitles. Gives "having people over for dinner" a whole new twist.

There was a disease, thought to be extinct now that was confined to the highlands of New Guinea call Kuru. It was a prion disease similar to Creutzfeldt-Jacob in humans or Bovine Spongiform Encephalitis in cattle. The only means of transmission was ingesting the brain of a human that was infected. Hopefully extinct, anyway.

first hand observations

Please do not equate those that believe a sasquatch or a lockness monster or a big snow man all exist,, with the military personnel of the US Navy and Air Force who have witnessed first hand things you will never see. You are better than that. Or maybe you are not. What they are telling you are not beliefs they are first hand observations,, and you do not care to believe what they say.
