Normally, we delete threads that start with a "link only" ... we expect the OP to offer some original content, question, or make a point. This thread "got legs" with a number of replies before we got to it, so, we let it run....for now.

Thanks for the grace. Most of the folks who started out fighting coyote threads are still fighting them, but most are obviously better informed than at the outset.

We are facing a problem that is changing our "paradise" lifestyle, that turns relaxed retirement into tense alertness, that promises by all other communites that have been this route to bring human vs coyote conflicts.

The link posted was news because it highlights another Florida community waking up to smell the coyotes.

I don't mean to hurt any feelings or burn any bridges but when you say "we" that implies you are speaking for everyone.

I say we because none of us are outside the community. If you feel ok with living with coyotes, making a case for it will facilitate discussion.

It's not so black and white.

Is my paradise gone?
Are we all tense?
Are we all alert"

Most people that live here are unaware of the coyote situation. Otherwise why would they put their trash out the night before?

This is not a global warming wake up call.

Wild Life?

They are here, as are the alligators, bob cats, etc. We moved here for many reasons, I for one love the wild life. I know to be cautious and aware of my surroundings, especially when walking my dog. But, starting another thread to hash it all over again.....really??

Really, "...wild life" as in a rip-roaring good time, or did you mean "wildlife" as in fauna...? Just sayin.
