Default Villagers volunteering at Disney

Has anyone, or groups here, volunteered at Disney - for example at a half-marathon? Wondering if it is fun and worth the drive.

When we were there in April there was volunteers staying at Shades. They had to be at the park before 4am. Those we met it was their first time, so no idea if it was worth their while.

Why do something for nothing with Disney?
With their money they should employ people, not rely on freebies!

It looks like it's harder to get an answer around here than it is an opinion.

I hope you're lucky enough to actually get an answer.

some would not volunteer there because it is a multi million dollar company and want to get paid lol so why are people volunteering at the venues in the villages like the sharon and other entertainment things it is also a multi million dollar company. it is to have something to do and see free entertainment there is no difference. it just depends on what you want to do. if it is pay you want get a job there are lots of them here if it is to do something different go for it.

It has become the norm here. I used to think it was reading comprehension issues. Pretty sure it's just lack of manners.

Races in general are fun to volunteer for unless extreme weather. Doesn’t matter if you’re a starter, a finisher or somewhere in the middle giving water to runners, it’s just fun!

As to it being held at Disney, unless this half marathon is different, it is the charity running the race, not the entity. The entity provides the location, helps with set up and clean up but really isn’t part of the race. Disney gets kudos and free advertising, the charity gets the money and volunteers.

Default Volunteering

My husband and I volunteered for the Special Olympics. We had a wonderful day helping the athletes. Would definitely do it again.
