Back to the original posting - thanks for letting us know of this concern, and thanks for your good intentions. So much of the rest seems irrelevant to the posted topic!

How is someone going to know that they are pumping E15 gas into their cars?

Bay Kid 05-15-2014 07:49 AM

Water in a gas motor...NOT GOOD....

I believe the pump will be labeled similar to the ones that are there now that indicate the amount of ethanol that may be included in the fuel.

With all the problems that occurred in small engines with 10% ethanol, E15 should have been DOA.

Nye not a real "science guy."

Bill Nye became a "science guy" as a persona for Disney for entertainment. His degree is in mechanical engineering, not earth science.

To answer your question, he was last seen a while back on Dancing With The Stars. Didn't make it to the finals.

For a discussion of how ethanol in your gasoline can damage your engine, read the Popular Mechanics discussion at E15 and Engines - Can Ethanol Damage my Engine - Popular Mechanics

It's very evenhanded, with no wild claims.

Ethanol is alcohol. Alcohol attracts moisture. Moisture damages engines.

Hey, Bogie . . . I think you have it wrong.

Don't you mean "Faux" News

Thanks. My 2005 Audi A4 suffered great engine problems unless you pretty much hand-made your own gasoline in your private Cuisinart food processor. Now I wonder if it was an ethanol problem. (However, that car was a bit of a lemon...)

Hopefully E10 will still be available somewhere. What a rock and a hard place to be between--the congressional measures passed without regard to the public--the public and its cars--the car manufacturers and their refusal to honor the car's warranty.

I believe that's called a double bind. As usual, the consumer takes the hit.

I give up on trying...JUST TRYING... to even understand this country anymore

We are truly going down the toilet!!!!!!

I think your car will get less miles per gallon as more ethanol is added.

mulligan 05-18-2014 04:31 AM

Didn't I recently read that Florida removed the requirement for ethanol in motor fuel ?

Bay Kid 05-18-2014 05:59 AM

The energy that is WASTED to produce this fuel is unreal. The waste of water alone should stop production.
