Chel - that is what Rok looked like the morning after the party. She was shocked, surprised and had her own pity party - she was sad for herself.

WIW I see your point, but would be sad if I didn't get to see the pics. Its September and I taut I needed a jacket and hat so I changed my avatar just for you Chels and HB!! I love to change my avatar!!!

Perhaps since there are 5,400+ TOTV members, and this thread involves only a dozen or so, the post might have been posted as a pm for those involved. It isn't the monthly TV gathering at Crispers.
Your thoughts?

Wiw, interesting thought. Being exiled in Canada, I really enjoy the pictures. They make me less homesick for my friends.

However I can see that some people .. perhaps a lot of people .. may perceive that there is an "inner circle" and feel excluded. Wiw, very sensitive of you to comment and care.

I love seeing the pics that are posted......you (collectively) are a wonderous and fun group of folks who know how to enjoy life. I thank you for adding so much joy to my life whether I am looking at pictures that were taken at a gathering or with you at a gathering. :clap2:

Thankyou Blondie,

I feel blessed to know these wonderful people who care enough to bring so much happiness and caring to an otherwise blah day.

I really enjoyed seeing the pictures, even though I still don't understand what a Pity Wedding Party is. ha, ha.

The more pictures I see, the more I feel as though I know all of you. Keep them coming.

Re: Wedding Pity Party

I am so very confused....was there a wedding? Was it open to the public (TOTV public)....if it was I am sorry I missed it! Perhaps even I could have gotten married... 1rnfl

Oh wait...we are in FL....nevermind....

Anyway if it was just a party for a small group of people...good for you....I had one last night and we had the best time....but I forgot to take pictures...next time I will remember and share with you....

Except there might be some pictures that would offend someone else....not sure what they would be of...but seems something ALWAYS offends someone!! :(

Let's relax...we are in TV's or want to be and we are allowed to have a good time. No one ever means to hurt another...it is hard to live life with out bothering or offending someone else....especially not this group! ;D

As one who has not met the folks in TOTV personally, I would like to say that I LOVE seeing pix of everyone and all the fun you're having!! :2cool: Thank you for posting them and not putting them in PM's.

Now, what exactly is a troll??? :dontknow:

WiW1819 and Barefoot made some very good points.

It all depends on your vantage point.
People need to be aware of other cultures... with over 5000 members we don't want an "inner circle".
Its 2008 and we are in the friendliest hometown!!

Alex, I'm sorry but this is as about as petty as you can get. Many, many people love to see these pictures. EVERYONE in the Villages is not going to hang around with EVERYONE ELSE! That's not only impossible, it's freaky! There is no harm in posting a group of TOTV'ers having fun. Again, those who don't want to look, just read on. This is getting ridiculous!

Re: Wedding Pity Party

Since everyone is now getting so PC I'm going to have a real problem finding a costume for Halloween! I don't want to insult any culture by wearing traditional dress (there goes the Dutch outfit with the wooden shoes), and sure don't want to mess with witches and goblins! :yikes:
I'll probably get run out of TOTV crap

Scottish bagpipes, Native American headdress, African American kente cloth, Geisha girl kimonos, Dorothy's red shoes....

Oh my...what am I going to wear to my classroom Halloween party?

Better stick to my bee costume...uh oh...hope it's not an African bee! :yikes:

OK...all joking and kidding aside...I MUST get serious here...

We can make light of certain cultures/heritages/symbols...but we must remember that most do not involve religious beliefs.

I honestly don't want to offend Amir or make light of his comments.

The Arab/Muslim culture/customs/religion I don't fully understand but I do show respect and tolerance.

Since 9/11 many Arabs have been falsely accused and ridiculed with no just cause.
Their beliefs may be different from my own but they are to be respected.
Their religion may be different from my own but should be respected.
Their culture may be different from my own but should be honored.
Their customs may be different from own but should be recognized.

We all need to be humble. We need not judge others nor be disrespectful.

That is the American way. We are a country of diversity, equality, and freedom of religion. Let's respect all.

With all due respect to Guenther...I know that he did not wear the head covering as a show of disrespect. He and his wife (Villages07) are very honorable people. For those of you who don't know 07, I ask you to read her previous posts. She is level headed, fair, just, honest, and a lady we can all depend on for factual information without bias.
