That's a good idea...or lessons for anything she's interested in like golf, art, you name it. Or, is she a reader? How about an ereader like a Nook or Kindle? of one of the new ipad mini's?

One of the most "precious" gifts I have ever received from him was sort of a poem/letter that he wrote about our life together. He wrote about many of the things we have accomplished together and how we have "grown together" in the many ways over these years. He described (in detail) what makes US so good. The look on my face when I see him, the little habits and things that I do that makes him happy, just really emotional stuff thats easier to write than say. I can read that little note any time I want - it sparkles in my mind just as brightly as any "bling" and calms and relaxes me anytime just as good as being at a "spa". It doesn't cost much to put a note/letter together from the heart.......and yet it is priceless.

I would do something that is memorable for her. Something that you would have to make an effort to do and would be pleasurable to her alone.

My bd is in 2 weeks! No surprise but I am getting the best present possible! Husband is flying son in from CA and we are doing a full family get together on Sat. The I get so all day Sun. Until he and dad leave for the football game! We all win,and empty arms will be full again!

(Oh, and we have our designer appointment in December!). Lucky BD girl?

I always take my bride of 47 years to Maceys for her birthday, but I pick out the nicest clothes. She just loves trying them on and I love picking them out. We have had fun doing this for 47 years and we enjoy a fun day shopping.

You can make a reservation and they will do the "presentation" envelope which you can wrap up in several boxes that she has to keep opening till she gets down to the reservation........some of these nicer places have spas , so you could add the "spa package".

This is what's great for the woman who has everything and does not need any more clutter at the house.

Plus, it's something to look forward to. I also purchase and plan a similar gift for my husband's b.day.......he will never do the spa thing though.....but it is nice to have a future getaway lined up.

Believe me, it will be appreciated. There must be some place within driveable distance that she enjoys going to.......for a long weekend.

Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!! Get on it! Happened to me, and I loved it. And if you present the gift in advance, your wife can help in the planning, or else be prepared clothing-wise, etc.

On our 30th wedding anniversary, my husband took me out to dinner and presented me with a tour brochure itinerary to a place I didn't even know he knew i wanted to go to. (We were sharing a computer, and he noticed all the bookmarks about this place.) The deal was we wouldn't do the tour group thing, but the brochure was to indicate where the trip would be, and I got to plan it.

What a surprise. And I'll never forget that trip.
