I have been to our home in TV often enough to know you will not miss:
Living in a very poor community - Lots and lots of public assistance outside of TV
People who wear their Pajamas to go out to dinner, shopping,
People who don't keep themselves up...no shave, no hair cut, dirty clothes
Run down, rusty vehicles
Rude people
Smart ass kids (excuse my language)

These kind of things exist outside of TV.
That being said, I bet you will be to busy to notice them.

Absolutely love The Sagamore; have heard that it is not owned by the same people and has changed in the last few year.

I love the book "Sarah, Plain and Tall" and in it Sarah says about leaving her old home in Maine, "there's always something to miss" and I agree with that but I have to say that although I have not moved down to TV yet (we own but rent out our house and it's killing me but practical for us at this point) I know I will not miss too much about living up north. I am not going to miss the cold; my joints already ache every day this winter. I won't miss this giant house when it comes to cleaning day. I won't miss going to work every single day when I'd rather be playing and I know that all of you are! I won't miss the lousy restaurants and terrible food this area has so I'd rather cook at home most nights. I won't miss the mostly 30something people I associate with and the lack of friends my age. I will miss the acreage my dogs have to run around in, but I am confident that with a bit of extra effort the dog parks will take up the slack for that. I will miss the extra storage and a basement but it will force me not to accumulate junk and to reevaluate what I really need. I will miss the wall space for the art I have spent a lifetime accumulating but I am sure I will work it out by the time I move down full time. I'll miss my kids but I know that they'll visit, and we talk a lot by phone now anyway and that won't change. Overall, I am sure that it's all worth it or I wouldn't dream of TV by night and daydream about it all day.

wih 4 mild seasons, a wonderful Donald Ross golf course with plush bermuda fairways but more than that wonderful wonderful friends that now have a place to visit in our new piece of heaven, here in The Villages...The big homes are a thing of the past, now it's time to transition into a life of pure joy and more wonderful Village friends.

To cynbod. I really liked you post seeing that you have made 60 post I would like to know where outside TV you have seen all this I have live here 16 yrs and I haven't seen the mess that you are reporting. If you don't think some of the items you are talking about don't exist in TV you are in a different world than I. If all this exist outside TV why do people living in TV go outside to eat, shop, church, and many other things. Your post surly does more harm than any good many many people lived here before TV arrived and to try to tear down the area outside TV sure leaves hard feelings . Maybe a person with you thought should stay inside the bubble and just hope everything you need will be supplied there. Remember there was a world before TV.

My friends, my grandchildren, good restaurants, good diners, good Chinese, good FOOD, soft water that tastes good, the ocean. the Chesapeke Bay, live theater, live music. good radio stations, Jersey corn and tomatoes, shopping other than chain and Big Box, little specialty groceries and bakeries,Trader Joe's, big pine trees, fruit and vegetable farms with roadside stands, a library system with more than 5 million books many of them old and out of print. Walking in a city with fresh snow falling. Driving or sailing along the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island. Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket. Block Island. The Hamptons.
