1957 Ford Fairlane, 500 with 312 Thunderbird Special Engine. Also had a 57 Chevy Convertible that used to spit oil from the engine to inside the car. Currently drive a 2016 Dodge Challenger..306 V6. Bright Red. The favorite besides the first, was a 1996 Chevy Impala SS with the 5.7 V8 An absolute monster of a car. A 4000 pound beast that snapped your head back when you hit passing gear...

Over the years my favorites were many different Corvettes, Tahoe’s and GM pickups. Special favorite Millennium yellow Z06 .

OMG!!! We had one of those too. I can't remember if I was old enough to drive yet.


It was black, and the turn signals were a flipper thing that came out on either side of the car. No turn signal lights. Of course, before the strict rules. A Pittsburgh Authority Bus made a right turn from the left lane and pretty much did it in.



Then we had some German car that cracked my brother and I up because it said Fahrt on the gear shift indicator. We were young and immature.


Then we had a 1960 red Triumph Herald convertible (four seater) that I drove in high school and then college till it gave up the ghost. My father had died by then, or it would still be running today.


But my favorite car was my 1972 TR6. I loved that car till we had our second child in 1978, and it had no back seat. Well... I still loved it, but I had to give it up.


I really wanted a TR4 or 4A, but by the time we could afford one, they weren't being made. And used cars had a lot of problems back then.


My husband had a 1967 Mustang for about 20 years till we moved down here. He loved it. I didn't like driving it--no power steering, no power breaks, heater stuck on "On" and no air conditioning. It looked pretty cool, though.

1975 Ford E-150 van bought it in 1978. It was a painters van which I proceeded to customize with a sun-roof, side port hole windows and louver covers over both rear and both side doors. I sent it to an upholstery shop where they custom made wall and ceiling panels in tuck and roll from black naugahyde! A custom Pioneer supertuner with a power booster and some pretty loud speakers. 4 inch foam glued on plywood then covered in a nice thick shag carpet to be able to sit on the floor comfortably and then had a custom 3 fold couch made which could fold out to a full size bed. Then I installed 2 cruising reclining captains chairs up front. I cruised around the states from my home in New England out west to Rawlins Wyoming down to Ashland/Protection Kansas then down on to Odessa Texas working my way around. I worked as a laborer on a natural gas pipeline as a welders helper, also worked on and off of oil rigs in west Texas. I took a year off from college to tour the country, what a long strange trip it was. Now I drive a '13 Chevy truck.

My favorite all time vehicle was my second ride, a Harvester International Scout. I don’t remember the model year, but I bought it very used around 1978. That thing would go through just about anything when the hubs were locked into 4 WD.

We were just 14 so could not drive it on the street but we did roar up and down the gravel alley next to our house. Terrified the neighbors doing it.
