It has been proven that, "Bad news sells"!!!

It's also been proven that "Knowledge is power."

Power to take common sense precautions at a personal and national governmental level.

sunnyatlast: I believe that far too many people do not have a clue as to how much the government is running our lives. I guess it is going to take a Wlliam Wallace to wake them up FREEEEEDOM.

Interesting point. I have a theory about what brought much of that about and would like to test it out in a separate thread. Not sure the best way to do it but I'll try. This may take a few minutes.

common sense at the personal level is certainly doable.

common sense at the national governmental level (political level) ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! Would require acknowledging a difference between right VS wrong which is also politically impossible!!

Well the United States as the dubious honor of having the most Ebola cases outside West Africa. Have you noticed that government has not mentioned the possibility of south border crossings to get around airport security clearances and the number of new cases in West Africa is being under-reported

Don't forget the north border crossings. Canada and the US has a very long unprotected border. Those ebola infected jihadist suicide bombers can easily cross into Minnesota at Lake of the Woods disguised as fishermen on a holiday outing.

We never hear of that real possibility from the lamestream media, do we?

Ebola Death Toll Nears 5,000 Out of More Than 10,000 Cases: WHO - NBC News

There have been four cases of Ebola diagnosed in the US - Thomas Duncan, the two nurses, and the doctor. Any others you can think of?

There have been 10,114 cases reported in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea, so yes, I guess you could say the US is second with four cases right behind 10,114 reported cases in Western Africa.

Experts keep telling us its not a problem but the virus jumps and it changes depending on its host and so the anti-hysteria attempts create hysteria. People understand that they live with the threat of cancer, heart attacks terrorist attacks etc but it doesn't make it any easier when they believe their government can't stop an unknown( Ebola) popping up here.

Donald Rumsfield said:

There are known knowns
There are known unknowns
There are unknown unknowns
and
there are unknown knowns

Its a long way of saying don't jump to conclusions...viruses keep changing and so we have plenty of unknowns unknowns competing with known knowns

WHO CDC please don't exercise conceit exercise extreme caution

The big frustration being minimized and smokescreened is that the ebola carrier who brought it into the U.S. should have been denied entry to the U.S. without ebola even being in the picture with him:

"That is five strikes against his application (for a visa):

- Single
- Unemployed
- Liberian (5th highest overstay rate of any country in the world)
- Has recently resided outside of his country of citizenship, displaying weak ties there
- Sister living in the United States.

Together, all these factors should have weighed very heavily against the issuance of a visitor's visa to Duncan. He clearly appears unqualified."

Worse yet, the government officials who could actually DO something immediately to limit travel from Liberia did not even listen to one of their own, fiercest voices--Rep. Grayson--in July:

"
The dreaded Ebola virus has spread from the jungle into major cities in West Africa, and at least one American congressman believes it’s time to ban citizens of the three hardest-hit countries, as well as foreigners who recently visited them, from entering the U.S.

Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., requested the travel ban in a Tuesday letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Secretary of State John Kerry."
