I'm like you, I really don't need it but I'm sure there's some people that live just on S.S. Maybe not in TV but I do know some people that live on just S.S. & when they get their checks they're gone in about a week from paying bills & groceries. Regor, we're the fortunate ones that live OK. But I worry a little about what I have in my savings in the bank. I know some people say it won't get so bad that the govt. will start using the banks for extra cash. I always felt if the Federal Govt. has their fingers into the banks which they do they can take what they want whether you want them to or not. Personally I don't think it'll get that bad, but you never know! I agree with your comment, thanks for your opinion.

It’s a stimulus package... to jump start the economy. Or it could be a bribe for your vote.

You are misinformed about this. If you make between $0 and $75000, you get the $1200 check. After the income of $75000, you get less. Most of us on SS will be getting a check.

As previously mentioned, there are seniors, many of whom are living on 1200. per month, especially those who are single. I'm happy for you that you don't need it. Great opportunity for you to do something good for others! Contribute to Corona research, the project to feed the less fortunate school children who depend on the generosity of people who make sure they get the food they need, so they can learn. There are a million options. Please do us all a favor and let us know what you end up doing with your excess $1200.

Exactly. It's to spend on products and services that you might not otherwise purchase. That will boost business and keep people working.

Smile stimulas checks

i am hoping we get our checks. we don't get enough i S.S. to even file income tax . this would help pay for some of our medical bills. My hat gets tipped to the people who don't need the money.

BTW, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration, a common misconception about the U.S. economy is that is dominated by huge corporations. Small business makes up roughly 99 percent of all independent enterprises in the country. Small business are defined as those that employ fewer than 500 people. This means small businesses technically dominate the markets in the United States, accounting for 52 percent of all workers.

Find ways to help the true backbone of this country.
I’m not keeping it. I’m putting it back into the companies that provide most of what we use. My ROI is minuscule but that’s not the point anyway.

Small business is great but they don’t provide all that much employment. The deli can maybe hire 2 workers at minimum wage where larger establishments hire many more at better wages.

Do small businesses provide you with your light bulbs, your car, your medications or even the cereal you had for breakfast? Of course not. And that’s why we need to bolster all phases of the economy including farmers.

Do you or anyone else you know ever planning to fly somewhere again? That’s why Boeing and Delta and American are getting money.

If you didn't file a tax return for 2019, you won't get a check.

I didn't know that there is a minimum income level to file. I thought all income is supposed to be reported. In fact, if your income is that low, you;'re probably eligible for earn income credits in which the government would send you money.

2019 returns aren't due until July 15, so do you mean filed 2018?

True some people are going to need it to help pay for all the stuff they’ve been hoarding from the Supermarket. Repair job needed. it will be spent and then some!

Have you check the value of any of your investments lately?, also I know that there are quite a few retires which live in a very tie budget, also that money will be feed right back into circulation via expenditures.

The income eligibilty to get a check is based on your 2018 tax return. But, I think if you are on social security, you will get a check even if you didn't need to file a 2018 return. Also, the earned income credit only applies when you have earned income.
