I consider myself a constructive non conformist.

When I post I expect others to reciprocate in kind.
Which we all know does or will not always happen.....which leads to near and sometimes combative positions by some few posters.

Excluding those some few posters, I find TOTV is the perfect format for sensible conversations and sources of information and even shades of comradery at times.

This part of your post is exactly how I manage TOTV in my life. It is fun and a diversion. When I take a break and have a cup of coffee I always turn to TOTV rather than watching the news.

Also, when I was a working woman I had access to a large group of people and if something was bothering me I would take it into work and on a break would say "hey did you see this?" Being retired I don't have this interaction, so TOTV really fills that gap for me.

eweissenbach I followed your "Old Coach" posts and wondered where you had gone, glad you are back and posting.

............... and now I really have to get to Aldi's

I just came in from golf. I'll look over TOTV and if I feel like commenting, I'll post. If I feel like helping someone, and I think I can, I will. If something strikes me funny, I'll share it hoping it strikes someone else funny. I'll ask questions. To me it's like a faculty room where you can sit with your coworkers and leave when you want.

I can paddle myself but why would I. And I think I just pulled a muscle trying to pat myself on the back. So I guess that's out too.

I agree with Carl and Tinker - To help others who have questions, need a bit of advice. TO DO A GOOD DEED.

The number one reason to post is ,,,,,,,,,,,
Poop. It is all about the poop on the forum.

You and many are very helpful. Sadly there are many who are disgruntled and suspicious of the developer...or just plain jealous. Some people who post ENJOY getting people all riled up. My dear husband says that anonymous people can say anything.

It was a great source of info before moving to TV and for me, it's always been addictive. Also made some friends on TOTV, especially when we met at Crisper's.

Sharing info, is another reason.

Long time posters know the people who are helpful and don't listen to the people who just complain, for the sake of complaining.

"I don't let people rent space in my head".
