Quote earlier: What most have already said. I have no interest in supporting a team or person that disrespects our country.
Why don't you stop being so hurt and man up and support all the OTHER hundreds of our athletes that did not disrespect our country. Do you not realize you are playing right into their hands. If everyone did what you are doing there would be no support for the US. They would throw then the biggest "winning" party ever. Relax, get back in charge, let them make a fool of themselves. |
Was going to watch but not now since politics has entered and is being allowed. Sick and very sad what is taking place in our homeland and some areas around the world.
|
Nope until they stop with this woke garbage, I’m out. Those athletes who disrespect the flag my wish is they lose. I won’t support the tv channels carrying it nor their sponsors. I believe we can all make a difference and get the message to all of them by not watching. Let’s take back America!
|
Don't you mean abandon America. Geeeez How can you give 1 percent all of your power and take your ball and go home sniffling. Enjoy Days of Our Lives, lol.
|
Nope. Absolutely not. I have no interest in watching these ungrateful athletes. I just don't care anymore. Woke BS has ruined many of the sports I used to love and it ****es me off. Don't tell me they have the "right" to protest. I could care less about their "right" to be disrespectful.
|
I wish they would publish a list of the PROTESTING US so called OLMPYIANS
I would cheer against everyone of "OUR" Athletes who are suppose to be representing our Country by Protesting our Country.

Not at all. Too much toro poo poo. |
Yes yes yes very well put

hank got the world is not run by old folks who forget whats its like to speak up for injustice.and use what ever platform to make change. The young are the future. Many of the same folks who boycott sports because some athletes try to bring change were rebels when they were young but grew up to be jaded and selfish
out with the old in with the new YES YES YES TOTALLY CORRECT. I'm 73 but that is totally correct. Get back into the fray and join and lead. Not go home and pout. |

Here's a first, responding to my own post lol So I just read what Barry did....oh boy, not good. This situation is not exactly the same as the NFL guy who took a knee....she's going there to represent the USA, (not get paid by some franchise). So, yes this leaves a very bad taste in our mouths. Why don't these athletes think? Don't smoke marijuana and think it's ok. Don't protest your own country and think it's ok. First you go and Win....then come home, being respected and then state your case....people will probably listen. |
Hoping Olympic cooperation among countries will rub off on all of us. It's time to heal. "And the world will live as one", I hope I'm not a dreamer (thank you John Lennon)

Google when this kneeling occurred and by whom. And look for a credible source.
|
I will not watch after all these woke athletes disrespect the US!

I do not consider it disrespectful. I view it as a protest. |
I always believed that being a member of the US Olympic team meant that you were wearing a uniform that represented your country, not yourself. I wore a uniform representing my country for 28 years. I never thought of myself, but of what that uniform represented. More so, making political statements while in uniform was against regulations. Specifically, Department of Defense Directive 1344.10 (DoDD 1344.10), Political Activities by Members of the Armed Forces, and the spirit and intent of that directive is effectively the same as that of the Hatch Act for Federal civil servants.
It’s my belief that Olympic athletes wearing a uniform be expected to follow similar guidelines. If you’re going to represent your country, your personal activism should be left at home because you’re no longer representing your country, but yourself. |

As long as the Olympic committee is okay with it, then there's no problem. They're abiding by the rules. If they break the rules, they will need to stop, or be held accountable. |

You fought for our right to protest. And - no one is kneeling for the National Anthem at the Olympics. You're all fighting the wrong battle, with the wrong players, at the wrong battlefield, with the wrong battle song. |
I will DVR the games and watch some. Dean, it’s a shame what has happen to the Olympics this time around. I’m surprised that more Japanese are not vaccinated. It is what it is…

There are several things that I don't understand about this Japanese situation. Perhaps someone can enlighten me ? Why could not a country with so much wealth and industrial capability make their own vaccine or buy the right to produce one? Russia and other countries have made a vaccine of their own. Also, how could Japan have let itself be SO unaware of the situation with the Olympics coming up? Thank you! |

Very well said and my views exactly. So tired of these athletes who want to promote their own agenda instead of representing their country.

Not in the least interested...

Olympics
As much as I love sports, I began to lose interest in the Olympics years ago when professional athletes, i.e. baseball, basketball, etc. began taking over the games. Suddenly, it was which country has the best professional athletes rather than the true amateurs competing from around the world. I will watch some of it, but I will be very selective in my choices.
