Hahahaha!
I'm sorry... But NOW you want equality! My, my. So you've think we've come a long way baby? Equality in taxes! Ha! Do you think because we've elected our first black President that the African-American's think they suddenly have equality? Do you think that women STILL being paid less than a man for the same (if not better) job think they have equality? Do you think the teachers in the ghetto schools think they have the same resources, tools and equality as others in more affluent neighborhoods? Do you think the middle class gets equal health care to the so-called upper class? The answer is a resounding NO!
But! People will leave their recliners or the golf course or some Mahjongg game to protest for tax equality! Equality in America is still a far away dream. Wake up! And if I were you I would be careful about preaching this argument on the basis of equality -- you might just sound like a "dreaded" socialist! ;) |

Take those tax cuts for all of us who don't make $250,000 and give it back to the rich. We love the rich. They trickle down their wealth to us.:pepper2::bowdown: |

I'm always amused by the hatred of FOX News. They have more Democrats who have their own shows or are guests on shows, than all the other networks combined, have Republicans. I guess the fact that Republicans are allowed on FOX News is to much to handle.
When did $250,000 become a million? The rich already pay a huge percentage of the tax bill. How much is enough??? |

Schools in ghettos lack resources for many reasons, to include a much higher expenditure per school/student to cover vandalism and security. In addition, There are fewer donated funds/resources which supplement tax tevenues because inner-city PTAs don't have m/any fundraiser programs that work well. Also, city governments often tend to spend the property tax money in ways which line the pockets of the city administrators (who eventually are caught!). The SBA 8a program still exists, and minority contracting is alive and well. So, Yes, it IS an equality issue, and will continue to be one as long as persons are willing to do more to someone else than they will do to themselves. It is always easy to target "the other guy" for whatever justification, and whatever one's opinion is about racial/gender/sexual/political/other issues, that doesn't justify taking aim at a different group. And you are not me...and socialism in any form is nothing more than Robin Hood without the romance. |

The rich carry most of the tax burden already. The wealthiest 1% of Americans earn 19% of the income and pay 37% of the income tax. The top 10% of income earners pay 68% of the tax burden. That's right 68%. The lower 50 %, taxpayers below the median income level, earn 13% of income but pay just 3% of the taxes. The above numbers do not reflect the health benefits and other government mandated revenues paid by the vast majority of employers...aka in your parlance , "the rich". Just curious kayak man....have you ever created employment for another? Yoda, your skillful silver stiletto use of polysyllabic expression slays me. |
