If you think about it, you're paying about 1/2 the cost of a lot of products as taxes. Each process in the manufacture is taxed.

Lets take your computer's case... The miners who mined the ore for the metals was taxed, they added 10% to the cost of the ore they sold. The smelter who turns the ore into steel also adds 10% for taxes. The miner paid taxes on the land, the equipment, fuel, payroll, profit, they passed it on. The smelter paid taxes on his foundry, equipment, payroll, power, etc, they passed it on. 10% tax on cost of ore, 10% on cost of raw steel. Remember this is compounded too, tax on tax. The steel is stamped at another factory, 10% again. The assembler turns it into a computer, adds 10%. It's shipped to a store to be sold, another 10%. You buy it, 9% in FL? You paid $100 for it.

It was taxed 10% six times! (thereabouts)

Remember, each piece is individually manufactured and taxed as the pieces come together. Plastic is crude pumped from an oil field, taxed, sent to a refinery, taxed, turned into plastic beads, taxed, molded into a part, taxed, assembled, taxed, sold, taxed.

Friend : Have you ever been inside a Federal Government office during the work day ? I have visited many different offices of many different Federal Departments such as the Department of Labor , The Fed , The Bureau of Statistics .

Sure it does. I do NOT know of anyone that is paying less for insurance. On the other hand, EVERYONE that I know is paying more for insurance. So, you go with your falsified figures. Now, insurance coverage is not covering important tests that they covered before. I know because now my wife's cancer testing was not covered that was covered before. Now, premiums have increased. Sure, they have increased in the past also, but Obamacare promised to decrease it. Now, deductibles are higher by thousands. Prescriptions are higher. Co-payments are higher. Our hospital in and out patient copayment went up 50%.

What they did was another "accounting trick". They took the poor from medicaid and "gave them insurance" that we paid for with increased rates. They're still poor and living off us.

Where did you get the idea that payroll taxes are "paid by corporations are built into the price of goods?" Payroll taxes are usually considered Social Security and Medicare contributions. You have part deducted from your earnings and the business pays part of it. If you are self owned business, then you pay 100% of the contributions.

And yes, ALL expenses are figured into the operation of a business in order to compute the actual profit that will be realized.

Post 39 used actual government figures. I used the same figures from that post. The only thing that I did was separate federal income taxes from payroll taxes. When I did his post didn't make sense. Has he corrected his post? If the person that made post 39, please chow me where you did.

It goes back to the pre-computer days when I was a Management Trainee at
Chase Manhattan and was charged to go over to various Federal Gvt Departments to dig out data for the Bank`s Economists . Part of a rotation on my first year in the training program .
" Walkmen " devices were new and I saw on several occasions people sleeping at their desks while plugged into such devices .
The types of behavior I described appeared to be just part of the culture .
I would imagine that today the behaviors are similar but with current technology .
