The idiot "guard" was clearing his gun in order to let a man look at his rifle? What kind of guard lets a person have their weapon? The bullet fired into the sidewalk and easily could have ricocheted and killed a child.

Get these drugstore cowboys off the streets.

As some on here would quckly use the following statement: Get used to it. It is the order of the day.

Maybe, just maybe a small indicator that some of the silent majority are starting to stand and be counted.

And while you are in the business of hypothesisizing all the negathings that could have happened....how about switching your hat around and gin up some positive coulda happeneds.

There are signs of this....The headline for the story I am linking to is...

Red States Revolt Against Obama Era Progressivism

"Pundits initially described Barack Obama's 2008 election as a major leftward shift in American politics. As the Obama era opened, the GOP held just 22 governorships and 14 state legislatures. But voters almost immediately began electing Republican lawmakers who rejected Obama's call for bigger government.
Today, Republican governors rule in 31 states, and the party has gained some 900 state legislative seats, giving it control of 30 legislatures.

This is a business publication and interesting this part of the article...

"A key Republican competitive initiative has been right-to-work legislation, which empowers employees to opt out of joining a union if their workplace is unionized. Since 2012 three states, each with a GOP governor and legislature, have adopted the policy — Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Except for Ohio, every state with a Republican governor and legislature is now right-to-work — a likely game-changer in relocation wars, especially for blue-collar firms.
Right-to-work has doubtless contributed to the significant growth in industrial jobs in states with Republican governors. Since 2010, the U.S. has added 660,000 new manufacturing positions — and more than 500,000 were in states with GOP governors.
Among the biggest gainers: Michigan with 102,000 new manufacturing jobs, Texas with 72,000, Indiana with 63,000, Wisconsin with 34,000. The expansion contrasts with the struggles of Democratic strongholds, including former manufacturing powerhouses like California and New York."

The police were called and the civilian with the gun was escorted off the private property at the request of the strip mall owner.

The "guard" was charged with discharging a firearm illegally.

Let the professionals handle security - not the drugstore cowboys.

Why wasn't the "guard" working on a real job instead of playing cowboy. Obviously, just one of the video game jockies who like to play the shooting video games and not have a job.

Can not make a point without crapping all over the poster?
Suffering from some deficiency! Courtesy and respect of others.

Is this the same poster who seems to question everyone's job ?

He/she seems to be able to KNOW the backstory on every case....was he collecting social secirity ? Why was he inot at work ? Why did he make that career choice, and then he would have a pension.

Such sage from someone who appears to know all and certainly feels obligated to judge everyone.

Default Race to Judgement

With no more information that provided it could be discovered that the so-call "drugstore cowboy" is a retired military, or law enforcement, or Special Services with many years and hours handling a handgun. Hardly an inexperienced civilian choosing to complain but do nothing to help.

Google the story and you will find the person is 28 year old Christopher A. Reed of Lancaster, Ohio. He stated in a phone interview that he never was in the military. He was convicted of this same type of offense in 2013. It is a 4th degree misdemeanor. He says he is a gun enthusiast. Probably a very decent guy but not retired military, law enforcement, or Special Service. I would compliment him for wanting to help but to leave it to professionals.
