Yes, Olbermann was a bit over the top sometimes.....but no more than Hannity or Beck or Limbaugh or Van Sustern or Doocey or Cavuto or on and on ad nauseum. :cus:

Could you show us the link of the videos that Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh etc. edited ?:jester:

Of course he can't find one, because there isn't any. To compare any commentator mentioned to the total odiousness that is Keith Olbermann is ludicrous. Olbermann was fired by left wing media because he was too radical and hateful. That about says it all.

For what it may be worth, I am totally disappointed that anyone would post that video on a site that I frequent.

Olbermann, the absolute king of edited videos...the man who is so filled with hate, that those on the left dont like him. It is dated, edited and simply trash. This is NOT political discussion, this is simply what I think they call in the internet world....flaming.

From my perspective this has nothing to do with left or right, Democrat or Republican, or the health bill for which this protest took place quite some time ago, but speaks to the type of rhetoric we have now.

Whomever looked this up and posted it was simply looking for trouble...simply trying to create a stir with more hate talk.

I feel EXACTLY the same way about the edited videos that surface from time to time on President Obama...this is really terrible.

I went back and did better research on this video. Your right, its old and I should have looked twice before posting. Sorry, I let my opinion of Bachmann run blind. I dropped the ball here. I have never been able to watch Olbermann so I should have known better.

Sorry I posted this one and thank you all for pointing it out. This is the stuff that will even stop the jerk train from running out of control. Keep on keeping everyone honest and fair and this board will turn into the site we can all respect.

Sincere Apologies,
The Villager II

Who or what is this "jerk train" you keep referring to? Are you part of this "jerk train" or is it just the people you do not agree with? About time you stopped with the name-calling!!!

The jerk train is anyone that slings insults at other members as opposed to debating or discussing a topic. I use that because I have enough respect for everyone on this board never to use a login name. Its not name calling, its a less agressive way of referring to board members that insult other members with personal attacks. I think speaking in general terms is more sensitive to others feelings.

Ummm.. Beck got in trouble for using the wrong footage of gatherings in D.C. to make his rally, and rallies he sympathized with, look bigger than they actually were. In some cases you could see the weather completely at odds with what was supposed to be going on (overcast when it should have been clear, etc).

Beck later said that it was a mistake in editing by his staff. Yet he crowed about how small his staff was (compared to The Daily Show) when he was saying his goodbyes. Made it a bit more difficult to believe he didn't know.

I would like to see some link to that story, because with all my reading I've never come across this, and with all the rabid Beck hate I doubt I would have missed this.

Please provide some proof of these "altered photos" claim you're making because that is quite a charge. Even CBS News aerial photo experts are just quibbling with Beck's people over the analyzation of the photo's crowd finding's numbers. It doesn't portend to claim that Beck or his staff fabricated anything.

I actually looked for the story after I read djplong's comments. I couldn't find anything. I'm glad you requested this, @Richie. I'd like to see what I missed.

My research came up with:

Glenn Beck did not say how many attended, but did say he was told that between 300,000 and 500,000 were in attendance. The final tally came to 78,000. Not half a million, but a large crowd none the less. I think Glenn gets a free pass on this one.

"We are humbled that you are here," he continued. "The reflecting pool holds about 200,000 people. This field back here holds about 250 to 300,000 people. They are not only full here, they're full in that field, they're full behind me, and they are now across the street approaching the Washington Monument."

Thank you, iaudit and TheVillagesII, I have seen those discussions before.

What I was talking about was this statement by djplong. Note: I added the bold text to show what I couldn't find reference about. "Ummm.. Ok, I goofed.

Beck's footage was used - but it was used by HANNITY to make the anti-Obamacare rally look bigger than it actually was. He was using the footage from Beck's rally.

It took some digging, but I did finally find the clip that I was thinking of:

http://vodpod.com/watch/2500379-dail...rotest-footage

Mea culpa. I inadvertantly remembered Beck (and forgot Hannity) from this 2009 story and when I saw Beck's farewell speech dig at Jon Stewart THIS year, well, that's how I put the two together when I shouldn't have.

I think the conclusion is that BIAS runs rampant on both sides, and nobody should be relying on just one or two sources of news on t.v. or online.

Also, nobody should be relying on just "entertainers" and their commentary some call "News Programming".
