very simple straight forward rules of engagement:

"...agree or disagree without sarcasm, slander, baiting nor even off color humor...."

So, those are the rules of engagement, eh?

What category does referring to our President as a scumbag and a liar fall under?

???????????????????

There was no mention of who said what to whom or who called who what. My reference a prior post by another member and referring to them as "rules" apply to ANYBODY who post here in political without ANY assertion as to R or D or present or past POTUS. The suggested courtesy was for the general audience....and it sounds like you have a specific issue with a statement by a specific person, so ask them.

In any set of guidelines the very best one can hope for is 80-95% which unfortunately means we will always have the likes of the issue you raised as well as the name calling and the ever present Bushslapping.

What coralway claims, never happened on this thread and I don't think was ever said by a poster on this thread in any other thread.

When villagegolfer/loveithere was around there was plenty of that kind of rancor.

Would sarcastic humor pass muster?

All of those sound worse than being waterboarded with Dick Cheney turning on the hose.

Yikes, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck? Nope, I would take the waterboarding.

buggyone:So finally despite your repeated denials "waterboarding" really isn't a technique that is out of the question and chould be used in an effort to save american lives. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So what I said is true, right?

There's just as much, if not more, rancor and name calling of Republican's by the left on this forum, isn't there?

Yeah, it seems to be equal opportunity

Guest 12-08-2011 04:59 PM

This is all predictable as some folks are just going to take a personal burn to certain issues and hence respond in kind. Subsequently I am beginning to unplug from a number of threads.

Will you please learn how to use the quote feature. You're post above attributes words to me I never said.

I said there was no evidence of what coralway claims by any "poster on this thread", or by "any poster on this thread in any other thread".

Please read again and acknowledge your previous misreading.

I and I KNOW others do not frequent this place as much because it is pretty much calling names of those the posters oppose, and LITTLE IF ANY true discussion.

This has become a playpen and many have left where there is actual discourse on issues with respect and where you actually think and learn.

Sorry if this in any way upsets posters, but this is how I see it, and I know factually that others feel the same.

I agree Bucco! I know that I haven't put the time and energy into this forum like I used to. I would post honest and rational information, do research on both sides of an issue, provide numerous links with white papers and unbiased studies...only to have them picked apart by folks on this forum who apparently are so highly intelligent as to be above reproach and never wrong. I'm not always right, but I am willing to learn and find truth and admit that I have been mistaken. There are several posters here from whom I have learned ALOT!!! But, going forward on this forum, there are times when there is truly no point.
