I can't believe that anyone continues to waste their time discussing this.

But as long as there seems to be a "need" to continue to try to figure out some way to get rid of Obama instead of actually winning an election--something that is beginning to appear very unlikely--maybe we should discuss what might happen if he actually was removed from office for not satisfying the legal requirement for holding office. Vice President Biden would be elevated to POTUS. I suppose John Boehner would become Vice President.

Y'know that might not be too bad. Biden is probably more stable and experienced than any of the candidates beating one another up trying to get the GOP nomination to run against Obama in the fall. And if we got Boehner out of the leadership of the House, where he's done a simply awful job, that's not all bad either.

When Richard Nixon was forced to resign because of the Watergate scandal and Gerald Ford became president, he appointed New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller his vice-president. The only way the speaker-of-the-house becomes president is if both the president and vice president are incapacitated.

So if President Obama were removed from office would that mean that -

100,000 troop would return to Iraq?

Bin Laden would be resurrected from the dead?

Seniors would be paying $600 more per year for their meds?

Insurance companies would be able to deny you coverage for a pre-existing condition?

Insurance companies could drop you when you got sick?

Young people under age 26 could not stay on their parents insurance policies?

General Motors and Chrysler would be out of business and one million people would be out of work in the midwest?

Everyone's taxes would go up?

To be continued

The Dow Jones Industrial Average would return to 7949, where it was on Jan 20, 2009, the day President Obama was sworn in, from 13,005, where it closed yesterday Feb 28, 2012.

Gays and lesbians would not be allowed to serve openly in the US armed forces, unlike every other major armed forces in the world.

You are correct. John Boehner is the worst speaker of the house, at least in my lifetime.

Ha.........Nancy Pelosi............Ha...........give me a break.......

Oh, give ME a break! The absolute worst Speaker of the House was The Newt. I am very happy that the GNopers have decided he is not worthy to even wipe his shoes on the White House doormat.

Check the number of bills Nancy Pelosi got passed compared to the number passed under John Boehner's leadership. Boehner can't even keep his own caucus in line. Just read on Twitter that David Drier-R CA, another high profile republican congressman announced his retirement today, a day after Senator Olympia Snowe R-ME announced her retirement. And Bob Kerrey will run for Senator Ben Nelson D-NE seat. Two pick-ups and a hold for the democrats in 2012.

Isn't it sad testimony to the low quality of politicians who are capable of becoming Speaker and third in line for POTUS.

Certainly underscores politics rules NOT quality or capability.

Good Point. I am glad that Nancy got so many bills passed! We would never know what is in them otherwise!

I hope she would be able to do that since she had all three branches of the government on her side.

But the reality is that quantity is a far cry from quality.

She was in it for her and her husbands gain and all the crazy lefties in San Francisco.

Glad she was replaced and Boehner is just trying to keep his scalp with all the different things he is having to deal with, dem senate and far left white house, tea party. I am not surprised he can't get anything done.
I don't think that passing as many bills as you can has anything to do with determining if someone is good at this job.

Guest 02-29-2012 07:47 PM

I am glad to see that notlongnow agrees that the Tea Party is a hinderance to government.

Guest 02-29-2012 08:00 PM

As long as you understand that I think with this bunch of jokers, (That was not the first choice of names to call them), in Washington we need as many things as possible to get in the way of "government".

If you think that it is only the Tea Party then in the way, so sad for you.
