Well, if the Kenyan village idiot set a precedent, who am I to complain?

I would be the first to complain. Either we follow the Constitution or get rid of it. Can't have it both ways.

isn't it a waste of keystrokes trying to figure out which politician lied about what.
Now if you want to do a real comparison the first order of business is acknowledging, all politicians lie.
So all discussions revolve around who it is that is being discussed and who the media needs to funnel the biggest rocks at. They are masters at sort out the different shades of liarism.

Do you not know that politician is a synonym for liar!!!

I believe we should abide by the US Constitution. If it is true about Rubio and Jindhal then they should be disqualified but then so should Obama.

Worse yet if it is true then what we have occurring is a political tit for tat (i.e if Obama can get away with it why can't our guy?)

so what we should be doing is immediately re-vetting Obama qualifications to see if he was eligible and is now eligible to ru for a second term.. We should also demand the same documentation from rubio and Jindhal and let the cards fall as they may. I'm gamed

It seems according to this site conclusions, as the U.S. Constitution does not specifically define the term, but leaves it to legislature to determine, that Rubio and Jindal are indeed natural born citizens and each easily can produce proof of their U.S. birth.

Pres. Obama?; if you believe all that has been presented under way too many controversial situations, is also. I'm still skeptical, but it's his fault and not mine. It should have been able to be easily and quickly proved, and it wasn't and still isn't.

I don't think there is any doubt that Rubio, Jindal, and Obama actually were born in the USA. The way I understand the ridiculous claim of the "birthers" is that if the parents are both not US citizens at the time of the child's birth, the child is not "natural born citizen".

Of course, Obama, Rubio, and Jindal are natural born citizens of the USA.

Where's Oily Taits when you need her?

Piyush had his 15 minutes - he'll never be more than the governor of the poorest, most illiterate state in the nation.

Meanwhile, Rubio has been busy updating his biography in an attempt to cover the lies he has been spewing about himself.

You can't make this stuff up.............

Richie, allow me.

Where's Orly Taitz (a leader in the birther movement) when you need her?

Piyush "Bobby Jindal" (Governor of Louisiana) had his 15 minutes - he'll never be more than the governor of the poorest, most illiterate state in the nation. (Mississippi)

Meanwhile, Rubio has been busy updating his biography in an attempt to cover the lies he has been spewing about himself. (WaPo and The St. Petersburg Times have tried to stir-up controversy regarding Rubio's autobiography where he said his parents fled Cuba to escape Castro and communism. Come to find out, they left 2.5 years before Castro took power. Rubio's mother returned to Cuba in 1961 with the intention of staying in her homeland. She was exiled from Cuba and said she'd never return because of Communism.)

You can't make this stuff up........(For sure.)

Thank you BK, I didn't understand the meanings that were the insult, and the racial prejudice in that post. I appreciate the translation.

I haven't read Rubio's account but his parents did leave because of a dictator and that dictator's name was Batista. Batista was bad enough, but Castro was the greater evil, if you will, and ended the dream of his parents to return to their country when things got better. They only got much worse.

Where can I find Rubio's own account where he specifically mentions Castro?

Everyone needs to learn the difference between "native born" and "natural born" citizen. Check with constitutional scholars and see what they have to say. There is a big difference.

Guest 10-24-2011 08:30 AM

All Marco Rubio or Bobby Jindal have to do is hire a bunch of lawyers, hide their birth certificate, seal all school records, bribe the press and go out there and promise hope and change.;)

It's still only opinion. Different learned people have come to different interpretations, it seems.

It's going to take a legislative decision and maybe even a high court ruling on that decision, but I don't think that's forthcoming after the Obama controversy.

Besides, I think the Obama controversy settled that question already. If the courts refused to hear the argument about Obama's qualifications, how can they now argue differently on anyone else.

Guest 10-24-2011 09:48 AM

That's right...if the courts say the Emperor is dressed, then he is dressed.

Guest 10-24-2011 02:15 PM

Village Golfer, what do you personally think? Do you believe that Rubio and Jindal are natural born citizens of the USA and could be eligible for President? I do without a doubt.

Guest 10-24-2011 02:33 PM

No they are not. They are native born citizens, not natural born citizens. If they were Democrats nothing would be said, but since they are repubs it will go all the way to the 9 black robed idiots to make a decision. Everyone thinks that they are the last word in law, they are not, the constitution is the last word. Almost all the laws passed by congress would not stand up to the constitution if we had a SCOTUS that studied the constitution and the federalist papers. Seems as though none of them can read or understand the constitution. If they understood and followed the constitution there would have been a 9-0 decision on the Heller vs DC 2 Amendment case. So it would seem that we have some on the court that would like to control all the citizens to conform to their way of thinking. It's going to come back to bite them in the back side if they are not careful.

"You protest too much, methinks"

If a person wanted to know what person(s) were rising stars in the Republican Party and viewed by the voting public at large to be viable candidates he or she would not have to do anything else but focus on denigration be advanced by liberals toward that candidate or as Shakespear said "You protest too much, methinks."
