Default Both sides of our mouth!

I don't want to respond to any individual thread since I'd like to think that some of these people on this forum will eventually be my friends.

What I'd like everyone to think about is this. As a style of government we have both the legislative side (law, bill, budget creation ) and the executive side who must sign the laws, bills, and budgets. We must remember that during the 90's we had a mostly republican legislative side and a democratic executive. During the 2000's we've had (for the most part) the opposite. They are ALL to blame for today's crisis. BOTH sides of the aisle. Fannie/Freddie was a time bomb that was started with good intentions and then blew up under the watch and blessing of BOTH parties. Economic cycles are, for the most part, unalterable by acts of politics. The economy is much like the earth's climate, it expands and then contracts on a regular almost predictable path. These events like Fannie/Freddie are micro events that simply cause the expansion/contraction to happen sooner or later than normal.

I'd like to see one side or the other get both sides of the fence for the next 4 years so at least we won't have a stalemate of ideas which has, in my opinion, slowed down our progress. After that we can go back to a more balanced approach so THAT side (elephant or donkey) doesn't go crazy.

My opinionated 2 cents.
