Default Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite, FL-05 to host constituent outreach

We received an email from Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite, FL-05, that was sent to let us know that she'll be hosting regular constituent outreach meetings in The Villages and throughout the Fifth District in the coming weeks to meet with residents of the area to discuss their views and concerns. We won't be at TV for it, but I put it on here in case anyone is interested and hadn't seen notice of it.

"Staff members from my office will be available to explain how to get in touch with me to remedy a problem, offer general assistance and information, and outline what services are available through my offices.

A member of my staff will be in Sumter County Thursday, August 2 at 10 a.m. at the Villages' Government Annex Center , located at 8033 E. CR 466 in Lady Lake . For directions, please call (352) 753-1592.

I hope you will be able to attend and meet with a representative from my office so they can help you and report to me with your concerns.

Earmarks attached to spending bills by congressional representatives are an issue of concern for all taxpayers. Many in Congress are now voluntarily disclosing exactly what special spending requests they have requested whether or not those requests have been approved. As taxpayers it's important for all of us to know exactly where and how our representatives plan on spending our money.

Ms. Browne-Waite refuses to indicate the extent of her earmarks and to what pet projects the money will go. This is not acceptable and she needs to be indicate where she plans on spending our money.

I can't attend the meeting but somebody needs to question her staff person regarding this important issue. Hopefully she will provide an adequate answer, but since she refused to respond to the Tampa Tribune when asked she'll no doubt remain silent once again.
