My father a WWII vet complained about the VA and refused to go to the VA hospital claiming if he did he'd come out dead.

So the poor performance of the VA goes back following WWII.

It would be naive' to believe that presidents senators congressman were not informed about the deplorable conditions and the poor management administration after administration

This issue is not about party affiliations its about the failure of our government officials each and every one of them

The federal government has become too big. Allowing public unions bargaining rights is plain nuts because incompetence abounds while salaries and benefits growing out of control.
Politicians reward public union increases in exchange for votes and the tax payers continue to foot the bill.

Several public pension plans are on the precipice and it doesn't take much imagination to figure who politicians will turn to for a bail out.

As government continues to grow it becomes more complex more redundant and less responsive to people's needs.

The government must be streamlined many Departments eliminated and Public Union bargaining abolished . In my view the IRS Treasury, FED and a number of other departments need to be audited

As a vet I made a choice not to apply for VA benefits because I had reliable insurance and because I would not step in front of a vet who fought and was wounded in war. Yet we have some vet's who felt entitled to freebies because they served for four years and most probably like me stateside

And for what it is worth 50% of the vets today who claim PSTD never left the states...meaning that the all volunteer army recruited a lot of guys who had emotional issues before they were recruited...again not ALL

I stopped long ago defending any one party or politician because its a fools errand . I stopped long ago believing politicians promises because they are never kept

Politicians become more brazen each and every election cycle and their truth is not your truth but they pull it off because they know most voters are just not thinking but emoting

I wonder how many of the VA bashers on this forum regularly use The Villages VA Clinic.

This is a very large clinic and always has lots of Village veterans using it. They must be doing something right - or is it that everyone just wants something for free?

The VA Clinic is NOT the hospital.
The Clinic has been made decent by all the senior volunteers.
Have you ever tried to call for an appointment?
And the VA is NOT Free to anyone other than the 100% disabled.
The VA services was earned by our military and is part of a benefit promised instead of their paying minimum wages to our troops.

The clinic is better than the VA hospital of the 70's for sure. Liberals should not comment on it, considering there are few that would know anything about it, other than the very few Vets that have been so disgruntled that they converted to liberals.

I will not comment on my personal experience with the VA because mine may not be the norm. I have had some very bad experience with the VA in 70's and some fairly decent service at the "clinics" in the present. That's all I will say, because I have heard both complaints and endorsements of the same places.
