Wow !!! No criticism from a single R in Congress?
where is Mitch? where is The Weeper? where is Cantor? where is Bachmann? where is Willlard? Not a SINGLE person on the R side has spoken up? Shocking, I say !! Simply shocking ...... Or maybe all of the above Cons, unlike the Cons here, take Martha a grain of salt? Wait .... is this the same Martha who, a few months ago, was doing a story on the failed 1/2 governor and in their stupidity they mistakenly had a photo posted of Tina Fey posted? Guess ole Martha can't tell the difference between The Quitta and Tina Fey. And this is your news source? LOL ........ C'mon Cons .... is this all you have to whine about? Total fabricated BS ..... It's always fun though ......... |
Ah yes, an ultra right-wing rag from Canada reports the Fox view of the full and unbiased news from Washington, DC. Get real and read the executive orders, folks. Have an open mind and think for yourselves.
My posting is not going to change any conservative minds on this forum and I do not have that intention. Just hoping that maybe one or two of them might just start thinking for themself. |
Executive Order 13609
Executive order 13609, Promoting International Regulatory Cooperation, does appear to grant US regulatory agencies authority to adopt standards set by other countries rather than those approved by Congress and encourages these agencies to adopt 'international' standards in preference to those favored by the US public.

I do not understand what the heck these conservatives are yelping about. The Executive Order is promoting more international trade by saying that the US will be more cooprerative with foreign countries in terms of regulatory standards that may have kept US and international trade from happening. It is a job creator.
What is RichieLion squawking about when he says the Constitution is jeopardized by this? The conservatives should be glad that a Democrat president is promoting more international trade which helps manufacturers in the USA and helps to create jobs. |
The article from the Canadian Free Press does not actually give any more information about the messages to the Supreme Court. It does call two Executive Orders treasonous though. http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/46448
It looks like garbage to me. |
Of course it is garbage. If these posters would read the Executive Order, they would see for themselves what they say instead of reading a extremist rag from Canada about American politics.
Once again, read for yourselves. |
And how many of you protested against the looney left's "Fascist Bush" and "Emperor BUsh" statements?
You lost me at "Dictator". |
Obama's become the all time champion of bypassing the Congress and acting as a dictator. He's even "recess appointed" when Congress WASN'T IN RECESS.
If a Republican did any of the stuff that Obama is doing, all you hypocritical rabid-lefties would be squealing like pigs stuck in barbed wire. The Supreme Court just needs to ignore the threats of "The One" and rule constitutionally. Let the chips fall where they may. Obama will find out we do not live in a vacuum here. |

President Obama Has Made Far Fewer Recess Appointments Than Any Recent President | ThinkProgress |
Richie,
I really like the metaphor of pigs squealing like they were caught in barb wire. I did not get any reply, though, about your specific reason why you are against the Executive Order concerning international trade standards. Usually, the conservative element is for relaxing government regulations and for assisting the ease of manufacturers which would lead to more jobs. |
FIRST of all, the "dictator" term, I believe was the choice of the write and not the poster.
Now, this executive order has to be kept in context....it is not the first executive order but each takes authority away from either the people or the US government. It is suggested that this might be a good thing, but not sure that is the subject since countries have always signed agreements such as this with OTHER INDIVIDUAL countries, and not a flat out statment for all countries. Now, this is ONE executive order....several recent ones include one concerning making it easier for the federal government to take private property.." In March, Obama signed an unnumbered Executive Order which provides the Federal government the power to confiscate land, infrastructure, and human resources in both peacetime, and during a declared crisis. One month later, the President issued an additional Executive Order which allows the government to nationalize, and take control of all natural gas resources." Obama signs new Executive Order for U.S. to follow global economic regulations - National Finance Examiner | Examiner.com The following quote is from the link above... "Every day, more and more economic sovereignty is being signed away by the Obama Administration, with the intention of facilitating a new global economic system whereby the American people and American businesses no longer have the right of due process in the US legal system, but instead are bound under international law and regulation. This new Executive Order signed by President Obama on May 1st is another move towards global governance, and the loss of economic sovereignty for the citizens of the United States." You can debate all you want about the plus and minus of trying to become part of a single economic system but having certain rights (you can argue all you want again how about you feel about that)...but having economie rights taken away by executive orders. There has been no discussion, no press conferences, the President just signed them away with no conversation with congress. This action alone is bothersome......and while the below does not directly refer to this thread...it is also bothersome to me.... "President Obama has held just one full length, multi-topic, solo press conference in the last six months, effectively abolishing the most accessible venue for American citizens to observe the thinking and learn the views of their leader. It’s May, and the president has stood for only a single such news conference this year, a March 6 event in the briefing room. He’s had only three since last June, counting a November press conference in Hawaii that was supposed to be devoted to the just-held Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit but which veered off into other issues. Nor does Obama generally allow questioning during brief appearances at the White House, such as when he makes statements with foreign leaders. Previous presidents, including George W. Bush, routinely took a couple of questions on the topic of the day at such gatherings." Obama Abolishes the Press Conference | The Blog on Obama: White House Dossier |
Another link to read if you really are interested...it gives the good and bad of just the most recent executive order.....from this link...
"Increased emphasis on international regulatory cooperation could be a good thing – if its priority is to improve and maintain regulatory protections across borders. But, too often international cooperation is an excuse to water down protections to the lowest level – a move that typically hurts American workers, consumers, and environment. Our goal should be to have American safeguards represent the “gold standard” worldwide" International Regulatory Cooperation: Will Harmonization Protect the Public or Prioritize Corporate Profits? | OMB Watch |
