That is horrible and I am sorry you have to carry that memory especially when it is associated with your wedding. I am not sure that the same thing may have happened with republicans in charge. There are a lot of bigots from both parties out there. It is however, a great witnessing story.

Had we come forward at that time I'm sure we would have been labeled as nuts.and also being young and stupid I didn't mind not waiting in that long line.We all make mistakes I wish I had a do over.

Well, in my opinion, you have overcame any misstep by bringing it out to educate people of what is really the bad in some of us.

Sounds to me like a rogue bureaucrat. In 1965, institutionalized yes, in 1975, hard to believe.

The pres secretary is long gone he was no rouge but his boss is still alive and was big hitter in party one of Daley's pals. this was the norm for that machine at that time . They would speak from both sides of mouths That is when I saw how people would blindly follow these morons. And please don't accuse me of a falsehood.One thing my parents thought me was to be honest and let the cards fall where they may. This is chicago not some small town where i'm sure people are much more above board.

Its getting late but let me think. Did I have an option regarding Social Security of taking the same amount of money paid by me and putting it into a 401K or something similar? Nah, guess I didn't. Not to even mention my employer's share.

When this option is proposed, the "spin" put on it by the left goes completely off the cliff. Not a surprise but its a fact.

There really is no difference because left or right they both vote for politicians who could care less about what they think and say and realize that their only value is in tapping them for contribution, taxes, etc.

Anyone believing otherwise is deluding themselves. These guys in Washington epitomize the " snake oil salesmen".

That is telling it like it is. Also, as long as they or we continue to argue about how to do it, they keep on doing what they want. If we could all just meet in the middle, we the people could vote together for someone that is committed to help the people and not themselves. Voting straight party ticket is what is hurting us the most right now.

Social Security is not an "entitlement". It is an retirement insurance program that I was forced to be a participant of. I "invested" in this insurance program for well over 40 long and hard years of labor. This is money owed to me and I may never get back what was taken from me in actual cash plus interest lost.

Please read some more so you have a vague idea what you're talking about.
