You have become THEM. That's what THEY do Bog...you're attacking the messenger and NOT the FACT that America is well on it's way to 80% minority and only 20% white and the effect it WILL have on the country.

Lets talk about that Bog...lets talk about the OTHER cases where a "white" country became a black/brown majority country.

How do you think you're going to get the votes you need when the majority benefit from the status quo?

You DO realize that each state WILL hold it's own vote on whether to abolish the 17th? What do you think the chances are of it going your way when many states are already a minority majority? Plus...you have the women. They WANT to choose their Senator. They DON'T want others doing it for them. They'll abolish the electoral college BEFORE taking out the 17th.

Absolutely. Repealing the 17th would be preferred.

I'm only making the observation that if you ask someone on the street if the 17th should be repealed, you'll most likely get a blank stare.
If you ask that same person if there should be term limits for congress, you will most likely get a resounding yes.
In fact, recent polls show over 70% of the population favor term limits.

I was only pointing out that there is less heavy lifting in getting term limits.

Repealing the 16th wouldn't be a bad idea either. The federal gov't should only get its funds from the states,
much like the UN only gets its funding from member nations.
Could you imagine if the UN could tax US citizens directly?
