According to Roman Catholics and to the Baptists, Mormons are not Christians.

According to Mormons they believe in the divinty of Jesus Christ among their various other beliefs.

I do not see Mitt Romney pushing his Mormon religion on anyone though when he is acting as a politician. He has never done it in the past, so I doubt if he would do it in the future.

I do not think religion should be an issue with either candidate Romney or with the sitting President Barack Obama.

And of course we know all Catholics and Baptists are good Christians.

doesn't this whole subject have a familiar partisan ring to it? Seems I recall similar questioning and flaunting and distracting and what ever nonsense were thrown around about whether Jack Kennedy as a Catholic could be POTUS.

Or more recently when Joe Lieberman was running being a Jewish follower.

Total distraction with the objective of creating doubt in the minds of potential voters who might possibly be of the ilk to believe no matter what is thrown their way.

One really does have to sort of feel bad for those who place such merit on such a known to the informed masses such meaningless attempts at character degradation!!

Rubicon - you are obviously correct. Just look at Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich as your prime examples!

And all these fine posters on here are the same ones who had no problem questioning President Obama's religious beliefs over the past four years, but now say Mitt Romney's religious beliefs are off limits?

This nonsensical narrative about Romney's religion is only another one of the many ploys being used to direct scrutiny away from our Obama's numerous failures and shift the focus onto Romney.

the only reason that you are anyone else wants him to release more tax returns is so that the news media and the Democratic party and presidents reelection team can have fun throwing innuendo after innuendo are nothing.

Mitt Romney is a good man and a moral man.

Nobody is saying Willard is an immoral man or is not a good man.

All people are saying is Willard should release ALL his tax returns. Even Bill Kristol is now saying Willard should release tax returns tomorrow.

What's the problem with that?

I have never said that President Barack Obama's beliefs are relevant. He is a man who can keep his personal beliefs out of his politics for the most part. Same can be said of Mitt Romney.

They are both very cool tempered intellectuals with degrees from Harvard Law School. Law school in my experience-- except that at BYU Law School and some other very religious law schools-- teaches you to divorce your personal prejudices from what you have to do to represent your client.
