yep,,,that Joe Biden, or Maxine Waters....they make us al proud. Give me a break.

Them two may make you proud, but not me. Maxine is a cancer on our country and Joe is just comical.

But that don't make Sarah any closer to being worth hearing speak

I don't read much criticism BY YOU or anyone about either one.....but you slam her personally and without any hesitation at every chance.

Wonder why

All I can say is when I hear her speak, It gives me an instant headache. Can you not at least agree that she is living in the past with no solutions for current problems. I openly say I could be wrong about her, but I sincerely think she is a selfish parasite on the rest of the world.

Pretty much your entire post was misinformation and propaganda propagated by the liberal media machine, except that she actually did resign as governor. Even that is out of context as far as the laws in Alaska and the muck raking liberal activists who took advantage of these liberal "ethics" laws where anybody can file anything for any reason. You only cite the part of the story which fits your biased narrative, and to me that's as bad as a lie.

She did not know world history, did not know the Queen of England was not the political head, could not answer what newspapers she read on a daily basis, and thought she knew foreign policy because Russia was in close land proximity to Alaska. She lied about the Bridge to Nowhere. Her debates were centered on changing the subject when she was clueless on an issue. Sarah is a great actress and great speaker but what she will be remembered for - and what will ever prevent her for holding office again - SHE QUIT HER ELECTED POSITION AS GOVERNOR.

All of this was documented. It is not made up. Millions of people saw her freeze up with Katie Couric and heard the infamous newspaper remark and the Russia being close to Alaska remark. She had been FOR the Bridge to Nowhere and then AGAINST it while saying she had never been for it.

I did not even bring up her wrongdoing with "Troopergate" because the trooper seemed to be a real moron and deserved firing.

Idolize her all you want, drink your Kool-Aid, make her the icon of your Party, but the woman was totally out of her element when in politics at the national level.

Yep...you dont have a serious mean streak in you !! WOW "a selfish parasite on the rest of the world."

You obviously have some huge hate issues that need work. Since you dont EVER contribute anything to this forum except for that HATE....as soon as my stumbling computer skills allow me to find a way to "ignore" you will be paced there. There is sufficient hate in this world without have to read your tripe !

You are just being nice here...you probably save your worst for children killers and the like.

Just because you keep saying it doesn't make anything you're saying true. The kool-aid has been consumed by you and not me. You can hate Palin all you want and I know why you do.

She is an All American women with a dynamic personality, and speaking as a conservative every-woman, she clicked with the people. That's why whenever she spoke in public she drew 10 times more people than were expected, and it scared the bejesus out of the liberal political machine to which you are totally devoted and the contract was put out that she had to be destroyed.

So you liberals got all your media soldiers together to ambush her with questions who's answers could be manipulated and spun negatively, and the rat troops of hundreds of investigators were sent to Alaska in a desperate attempt the destroy this woman, her family and anybody who spoke up for her.

You want to tell the history of this story? I know the history of this story, and the liberal media machine, the Democrat Party and it's sycophants come off looking almighty sleazy.

I will reiterate much..no, all...of what RICHIE has posted and add.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and was very very involved in Democratic politics about the time Joe Biden began his career. He was known as a buffoon to be frank with you. In his recent history, without doing any investigation, he has made more gaffes than Palin and many others on both side of the aisle combined, yet the utter nastiness and sheer hate that is aimed at Palin goes beyond making gaffes.

I did not support her being on the ticket...but alluding to your difficulty in not being nasty is telling. I can find no reason to ever be NASTY as you say to anyone in politics unless there is a very viable reason....and in Palin's case she can say all the stupid things in the world, and not get close to deserving the hate and viciousness aimed at her. The media NEVER attacked someone like they did her.

But if you need other folks who CONSISTENTLY say dumb things....I am betting she knows how many states we have !!!

Bucco: The information you share above is pretty much what folks recall when Biden attended Syracuse University

Having said that there are inumerable politicians that have been categorized in the same manner as Palin and Biden. Its never been in my nature to ridicule anyone

It is sad and counter-productive to launch personal attacks. Isn't it more constructive to discuss the merits or disadvantages of policy? Apparently not so for many, The intent of the original post was to stimulate dialogue on how we could counter the bravado and demand detail and factual information from our leaders. Many members are right when pulling the plug on this forum. I don't want to waste my time with people so shorted sighted that they can't see beyond the next adjective when attacking a person Well back to the drawing board perhaps there is another approach in getting around personal attacks. I am such an optimist when it comes to people.

Yeah, tough questions like "What newspapers do you read on a regular basis?"

Wow, your adoration of Sarah is amazing. Well, no matter what I say, you will come back with it is the sleazy liberal machine that would do anything to destroy her. You know my viewpoints - as pointed out in front of millions of viewers - but I am not going to say anymore on the subject in order to not to offend a good drinking buddy. You know that I do not want to carry things to a personal level.

OBAMA while in HAWAII referred to it as ASIA during a press conference Nov, 2011

OBAMA once said the USA built the International Railroad in Sept, 2011

OBAMA in trying to make a case for government run healthcare said.."UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? It's the Post Office that's always having problems."

And of course OBAMA forgot how many states we have.

These were all errors.....only included them to point out the total shallowness of your attack.

You use words like ICON, IDOLIZE and not sure where you get all this...it seems it has to be some kind of mental image that you got somewhere.

Personally, I was not happy with her selection as VP candidate...glad she is staying out of the current race...but having said that, she has as much right to be involved in her party as anyone. What you see on this forum and this is a FACT....people are just sick and tired of the tired old crap being flung at this woman when you totally ignore so much things of a SERIOUS nature.

I have been silent on this issue for a long time but am tired of you guys with the personal issues that require you to have somebody to HATE and abuse just looking for anything that has her name. Her family, kids...all of them have been dragged through the mud and frankly she brings to the table a lot of virtues that many elected officials could use.

While I have no reason to support her, I am a bit sick of tired of the hate stuff on this person.

"Since you are seeking the most important position and since you have so many potential enemies you can't afford to make any mistakes. You must conduct a flawless campaign with the greatest thoughtfulness, industry and care. You must:"

[B]1. "Promi1se everything to everyone. Tell them what they want to hear. In promising anything tell them that unless of some clear obligation preventing it, but only live up to those obligation that benefit you."

2. "Call in all favors. If you have helped friends or associates tell them its payback time. Make it clear to each one who is obligated to you exactly what you expect of them. If someone is not in your debt remind them that you can reward them later, but only if he backs you now."

3. "Know your opponents weaknesses and exploit them. A winning candidate calmly assesses his opponent and then focuses relentlessly on his weaknesses all the while trying to distract voters from his strengths."

4. "Flatter voters shamlessly. A candidate must make voters believe that he thinks their important. Shake their hands and look them in the eye, listen to their problems."

5 . "Give people hope. Even the most cynical voter want to believe in someone. The most important part of your campaign is to bring hope to people and a feeling of goodwill toward you Voters who believe that you can make their world better will be your most devoted followers....."

What expert offered this solid advice?

Quintus younger brother of Marcus Tullius Cicero who was running for roman consul 64B.B.C. Marcus won with more votes than any other candidate, went on to save the republic from a conspiracy and was eventually given the title of "father of his country". Unfortunately he ran afoul of Mark Anthony and was murdered in 43 B.C.

Professor Philip Freeman "How To Win An Election: An Ancient Guide To Modern Politicians.

Keep these five steps in mind everytime you hear a politician speak and especially remember promise them anything but only do what benefits you.

Thanks for this post, rubicon. I have read a lot of Roman history and there seem to be many parallels between US history and that of the late Roman Republic.

She takes everything she can get her dirty little hands on and gives nothing in return. She is a parasite on this Country and the World. And yes, I am a real nice gentle caring person. Thank you very much. You can go to Admin, and they will get a team of folks together to show you the complicated system of blocking someone. LOL

Will do...and nobody who uses the language you do about people you do not even know is even close to being a "real nice gentle caring person"..that is impossible when you talk about other human beings with such a vile tongue.

I am so sorry, it may be my redneck childhood or my 22 years in the military, but whatever, I do not see that I use vile language. I do use some strong words to get my point across and maybe that is why you think I am harsh. I don't mean to be over the top. Swearing and barroom speech is a big part of my life. I actually clean it up for this forum. You should hear me in person. I think you should consider not responding to my posts if you feel that I am so vile. I find you vile for attacking me personally. I do not do that to members of this board, only to public figures that are stupid idiots.

I think Romney is a warm and wonderful politician that will enhance the living conditions of the kind and thoughtful American citizens. I will pray for him to have a safe and successful campaign and win the race for the WH. I hope he and his family have the best of health and joy every day. Peace and Love to everyone. How is that? Not to rough for your sensitivity I hope.

Richie - here's the exact quote from Palin:

Quote:

He who warned uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed.
He (Revere?) warned the British by "ringing those bells"? And he's riding his horse? Ummm - he never made it very far... The only time he said anything about the arms in Lexington were when shots were heard warning of the advancing Regulars.

Revere never fired any warning shots. He never 'rang bells'. One of Revere's co-prisoners made a comment about bells while detained. They (the Regulars and the prisoners) *heard* a shot about a half mile from Lexington whereupon Revere DID say that it was a signal to alarm the country.

This is the problem I have with many Palin supporters. If she said the sky were green they'd agree - that somehow you're never supposed to admit you're wrong. And *that* is what makes one a caricature.

Believe me - we LIVE this history here and re-enact the Battles of Lexington and Concord almost within paper airplane distance of where I work EVERY YEAR - *WE KNOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THIS STUFF*

I have no trouble admitting when 'my guy' is wrong whether it's politics, sports or if it's myself on any other subject. It's called being human - because nobody is perfect.

Refusing to admit when someone makes a mistake is a hallmark of insecurity.

I assume that you have read the other gaffes by the President of the United States relative to the number of states, etc...the gaffes by the Vice President of the United States, and you respond to this about Paul Revere >

Who cares ?

Coverage of this woman was of the lowest I can recall in my life and as you know in todays world THEY..THE MEDIA shape the opinion.....and here we are.
