Glenn Beck
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auQJVhNH99c&feature=topvideos[/ame]
I sure hope that the Right Wing people on this site do not condone the remarks made in this video by Beck and his Guest. Disgusting that anyone would want another attack. |

You attain the stauus of being a right winger if you do not
agree with the opposition!!!!! That is clearly obvious in this forum and unfortunately too many that I deal with in every day life.
If ya don't lean or go in their direction they always got a name for ya or a type cast pigeon hole to put one in. btk |

Beck Isn't Totally Blameless
I kind of like Glen Beck, even though I don't always agree with everything he says. In this case, I agree with those who observe that he wasn't the one to propose that a violent terrorist attack is necessary in the U.S. to create political activism. His guest was the one who made that proposal.
But Beck isn't totally blameless. I don't think his show is broadcast live, so he knew exactly what his guest said before the show aired and still included the interview and permitted it to be broadcast, even though the proposal was egregious to the extreme. Further, when the guest made the proposal, while Beck didn't state agreement, he sure didn't express any disagreement with the proposla either. This is yet another example of how entertainers purposely sponsor or permit outrageous conduct or statements purely in the interest of achieving ratings. Both Beck and his guest knew exactly how the public--both liberal and conservative--might react to such an outrageous thesis. They would talk about it, as we are doing here, and probably some will tune in Beck's upcoming shows to see if any further offensive statements are made. Any increased viewership as the result of this offensive guest won't include me. |

Maybe I'm obtuse, and I wouldn't want to hold a vote on that, but I really don't find Scheuer's statement to be all that egregious. I certainly didn't get the impression that he was hoping for a domestic attack, but that he feared that the administration was so entrenched in what he perceives as a Chamberlainesque mentality that it would take such an event to stir them to action. I don't believe it is quite as bad as Scheuer paints it today, but I don't know about tomorrow. There's been nothing in the Obama administration, especially in foreign policy, that would make one rely on its consistency.

Well said.
And you also need a center to balance the plane. |

No offense taken Top, however, your assessment of the conversation is still wrong. Mr. Scheuer and Mr. Beck said nothing wrong. In my opinion, you just misunderstand them. Perhaps you should watch Glenn Beck for a couple of weeks every day and then you won't misunderstand where he is coming from. Actually, 99% of the time, he is quite right. Note we still have freedom of speech. Might as well take advantage of it while Obama and his mob still allow it !! Happy 4th. Wouldn't our guys who gave their lives in WWII be ashamed of this mess.

I don't think either one of them condone or of course want an attack such as they speak of. However, the point he was making was America at large is asleep right now. I agree we do need a wake-up call before America as we know it is gone. I pray it doesn't take a national tragedy to do it.
