For the sake of argument let's agree that "certain aspects"
of Obamacare are positive in intebded result.
We can even hypothesize the American people got it wrong or do not understand.....what does any of that have to do with the fact the American people have over whelmingly SAID NO!!!!!!!!!!! Obama and the lawmakers ARE NOT doing the will of the people. They couch what is not blindly supported by the herd in the fellonious tenor of "...there are many things that need to be done that are not pleasant...". The lame and stupid answer to a simple situation.....we the people said no. And we did not elect anybody to do what ever they think needs to be done....WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btk |
This is no longer a string that once had a very different direction and it has now turned into a bulletin board for whining and crying. Maybe we need a Thread for just shouting complaints with no intention of working on a solution. I will start another Thread and try to keep it focused on the title subject. I have truly lost track of what this one is trying to accomplish.

"I gotta say finding GOD is a good thing for Glenn. Like so many X addicts, X Alcoholics, X Felons, X etc., he is on the right track, but I find it mighty arrogant of him to act like the rest of the United States has been walking blindly toward the burning pit. Not everyone, like Glenn, needed years of being in a drunken haze to convince them to turn to GOD. Sorry Glenn, been there and still there so get back to being the satirist comedian you are good at and stay off the evangelistic trail. I am not buying it. " What kind of replies did you envision ? Seems when you critique someone as you did, you can expect those who like him to counter and that there be a discussion of the reasons for his polularity, dont you think ? What did you envision when you began the thread with the comment above ? |
Bucco, remember the challenge..."either agree with me or convince me to change my
my position..."
Doesn't leave much room for the supporters, as usual, maintaining if you don't support the Obama regime and direction you/we are out of order!!!!!!!!!!!! Pray the message gets delivered in November 2010 and 2012. But I fear the rhetoric will be similar to that after the big loss in Mass....after the election was lost to the Republicans it was deemed by the spin doctors to be insignificant....as usual. btk |

This is what you just said in alluding to your fellow posters...."....now turned into a bulletin board for whining and crying." . I assume you feel that way because they disagree with you ! Maybe read BTK's post for some clues as to why this movement has become strong and why the feeling is that if you are as far left as you are...and does not matter what you are saying on here, it always comes down to criticizing the right and defending the left...anyway, it just seems as if those from the left, as with our President, just KNOW what is right and we are expected to accept that you are smarter and therfore simply follow along or we are dumb, OR as you put it...".....whiners and criers" |

How can you possibly berate Glen Beck for sharing his love of country and God with his audience? Anyone who listens regularly to either his radio or Fox News show is fully aware that Glen is greatly concerned that our human rights which are bestowed by God (not government) are at great peril. Less, than three weeks ago I was standing in Tiananmen Square and recalling how much China has changed over the past 20 some years, due in large part to those brave men and women who stood up to a repressive regime that denied it's citizens of their "God" given rights. With the fragile state of our economy and a President and Congress that continues to ignore the will of the majority, it should be of little surprise that so many people turned out on 8/28/10 to support Glen Beck and his call for "Restoring Honor" not only to our elected officials, but to each one of us as well. Today, many Americans feel that our freedoms are being blantanly stolen from us and if we don't stand up and be counted we and the generations to follow will have lost the America that was once......the Greatest Nation on earth. The Restoring Honor Rally had over 500,000 attendees. It was a magnificent day for such a wonderfully inspiring and morally engerzing event. I met literally hundreds and hundreds of great folks from all over our country in a matter of a few hours.......and I owe it all to Glen Beck! He sure threw one heck of a party!!!! So, Lou, whether you want to refer to Glen Beck as an "Evanganlist" or "Comedian" that's your choice.....but for those 500,000 plus people who came to the Lincolon Memorial on August 28, 2010.......Glen Beck was simply "A Great American." Great post. We were scheduled to go but had to stay here and show our house. (it is for sale) I noticed the media, again, is down-estimating the crowd size. It sure looked like 500,00 to me. Annabelle, you are a great patriot!!!!! |
Watch Beck's show tomorrow. He is going to illustrate how many people were in attendance using the size of an audience that the mainstream media documented as 100,000 for an Obama speech that was given during his campaign to compare it with. It should be interesting.
Wall to wall people from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument which is a distance of .8 of a mile. That is a lot more people than the 87,000 CBS reported. |

By the way, the summer of "recovery" is projected to have a net loss of jobs. Some recovery, huh? |

I hope that conservative minded persons who are not religious are not driven off by the religious nature of the rally. The challenge for the future of this country is not about faith, or God, or religion. It is about core FISCAL conservative beliefs. I think fiscal conservatism owes this surge to Rick Santelli of CNBC, not Glenn Beck. He has the guts to tell it like it is.

Even if you are not religious, Politics not based on religious principles is corrupt. |
Do unto others as you would want others to do unto you. Beck even explained on O'Reilly last night that he welcomes everyone, even atheists to come together. Everybody can fit in the tent as long as they follow the golden rule.
