Come on, be fair, have I ever called any of your posting sources "right wing nut jobs"? Okay, maybe that is not a good example.

Anyhow, it is or was only a rumor that was in The New York TImes. Put whatever credence you want in that. Obvioulsly, Glenn Beck is not going to end up on food stamps. He could probably buy the entire Villages and still have some money leftover.

Say what you want about the man but he found his niche and parlayed it into a mega-fortune. American dream come true for him.

I dug this info about ratings, can't understand why they would get rid of Beck because of his ratings, he still beats all the others except the top ones on Fox ie O'Reilly, Hannity and neck and neck with Brett Baier

I admire Glen Beck, many of his shows are doing what the schools today are not......teaching the history of the US..Hopefully they are not getting rid of him....maybe he is moving on to bigger and better things.

When you post on a political forum, here or anywhere, and you allude to something as a FACT, you sort of have an inherent obligation to validate that with a link so others can read it and put it into perspective. That is just plain common sense.

You posted that as a FACT and it is not and you never ever read that in the NY Times or elsewhere. The closest to that is an EDITORIAL that mentions the rumor of him beginning his own network and that old "unamed" person said they are looking as to what it would be like with him on the air. THATS IT.

It was NEVER a fact as you reported it. It was simply a lie fostered by you to have some opportunity to throw stones at the network and Mr Beck.

In order to have political discussion of any kind, you have to rely on people to be honest and forthright. You just cannot make things up and report them as facts. You can have an axe to grind with networks or whomever you want, but posting things that are just made up by YOU is not something that should be allowed or tolerated.

PS: There have been problems with Fox and Beck for sure, reported in the news but also great joy in his ratings. I just would love to see HONEST discussion on here....and not made up news stories. Even the far left sites have not said what you reported as fact.

You're right that Beck has attained a profitable celebrity position. He definitely found his niche to acquire the success most only dream of finding.

I read some rumors of Beck may be starting his own media network. I don't know if they're speculating a cable venture like Oprah or a strictly internet enterprise.
(He's already garnered some internet buzz with the Drudge-like site "The Blaze")

But is this for real or just a ploy to enhance his position in the contract negotiations he's having with Fox News? Time will tell.

Yeah, Richie, it very well might be part of a plan for even more money in a Fox contract. Beck has a very large following and can probably get whatever money he demands. Sure must be nice, huh?

I did a little editing on my previous post to Bucco. You are right about my humor at times. I like to think I have vast wit when writing when, in reality, it is only half-vast.

On another subject, I just read your post about your electric golf carts. I have a Polaris electric cart which is very nice. You stated you wait for 20 minutes for the batteries to cool down before plugging in for recharging. I have not heard this before. Was that recommended by your golf cart salesperson and what is it supposed to do?

Half-vast?; LOL; I love it and am definitely stealing that one when the time is right.

About the recharging; the guy I bought my 2nd cart from is a retired golf cart mechanic and he's the one who told me that when you return from a ride that your batteries are literally boiling. He said it's not a good idea to charge the batteries until they cool down a bit and stabilize, and that 20 minutes was a good time to wait before plugging it in. He sets a timer in the house because he says he'll forget to go back in the garage and plug in the cable. I've done that a couple of times.

Well, it seems as though I was 100% right on this issue. Fox did not renew Beck's contract and he is going off the "news".

Not quite true. Beck is stepping down from his show a day commitment but has signed a new contract with Fox that should keep him in the public eye for a long time to come.

His plate is already full with his daily radio show on the airwaves and satellite radio, and his internet sites such as The Blaze, and his best selling book after best selling book. I imagine you're still going to be faced with dealing with his public presence, and his exposés of the socialist's and the islamist's agendas.
