Seems like some people like to self-destruct. We have been warned by a fair moderator. All you have to do to survive here is to try to stay on subject and not maliciously attack a fellow poster. It really is that easy.

Been there, done that! I wouldn't refer to the 6 PAC as strong minded at all - maybe weak minded, one trick ponies. I would wager they have driven more people away from TOTV than they have drawn to it. I'm not talking just about the Political "hid em in the backroom" Talk area, I'm talking away from TOTV entirely. I almost never visit anymore nor do I post much anymore. Can you imagine living in a place full of their kind. Luckily we don't have that problem. They are but the tiny minority that you'll find no matter where you live. You are better than that - we are better than that.

How is it they never get their nasty little posts thrown out? How is it they never get expelled from the forum? Hmmm, gives one a thought to ponder doesn't it?

Good post Xavier, I agree with you completely. One of the them could have been suspended any number of times for the posts that he made but instead Villager II and hrp01 have been suspended. Double standard????

Most people here have been warned to keep the posts directed to the topic of the thread. The moderator asked us nicely to not address each other and stay on topic. Some people here continue to harass and taunt and never contribute to the conversations. Most conservatives will address the politicians and policies. Liberals get mad and then attack the conservatives instead of rebutting the point that was made.
Go back to each thread and see which person starts the personal mudslinging first.

Not much pondering necessary. You've answered your own question. It's because the vast majority of all the personal attacks on this forum have come from posters who've run out of debate issues because of facts or personal knowledge or the ability to control their emotions.

As you know I've been posting on this forum for a long time. All controversy involving me has begun with a poster attacking me personally because they weren't capable, for whatever reason, of disputing whatever point I was making. I've never initiated an episode by directly attacking a poster. I may have bashed an idea of theirs, but not them personally. I may respond to a personal attack once it's launched, but not with gratuitous vitriol.

Why some get so personally invested in what they've posted that they cannot stomach deviation and objection to their ideas is beyond me. Then there are those who hate what someone says against a public figure that they admire so much that they cannot control their anger. The personal and often slanderous attacks then begin against the poster who said these things they didn't like.

The fact is that I have never in all the time I've posted on this forum received as much as a warning. That tells you all you need to know.

I also agree that this name calling has gotten outrageous and has to be stopped. There is no excuse for calling someone a "village idiot" or "disgusting", "religious zealot", saying you do not give a damn, etc.

This is supposed to be a forum for exchange of opinions. I do not agree with most of the conservatives but they do not agree with me. Most are very civil. It does not matter what side of the aisle you are on; just express your ideas. Don't make it personal with name calling. I get irked with the rolf icons but that is okay. It is one person's humor vs mine.

Like the ADMIN has said, keep the posts like you were talking to someone face to face. I would not stay around a person that called me disgusting or a village idiot and that they did not give a damn about my opinion.
