I also feel ar-15 designed for war aren't necessary. Yes I know there's a black market for these. However, for our kids, this is another reasonable move. May take 30-40 years to get rid of assault rifles but we clearly need to start somewhere. My grandkids have mass shooting drills. Giving them nightmares!!! Again, keep our guns, just be informed and research before you hear someone say they are gonna abolish the second amendment-impossible by the way.

I do not know which comment you are replying to, but you really shouldn't be throwing stones until you open your windows. When it comes to "uninformed" it appears that you are guilty of your own accusation. An AR-15 is not designed for war. It looks a lot like an M-16 which is a military, automatic rifle, but the AR-15 is not automatic. There is no need for a "black market" for them, because anyone can purchase one in this country. My son-in-law owns one. My daughter bought it for him as a gift.

I have yet to see a gun commit mass murders/shootings. If your grandkids have drills, you can thank our government for protecting the radical Islamic terrorists under guise of PC. Please notice that ALL mass shootings take place in "gun free" zones, where it is unlawful for anyone to possess a firearm.

By the way, assault weapons are illegal unless you have a special gov license that is very expensive and requires a very thorough background check. For being a "pro 2nd Amendement....proud gun owner" you don't seem to be very well informed. Perhaps they should have done a better job on your background investigation....:icon_wink:

And if you really believe that this administration can't "abolish" the second Amendment, then you are as blind as you are ignorant of the facts. By putting so many limits on firearms, that is the same as abolishing it. This administration would like to do away with concealed carry, guns that have magazines that can hold a certain amount of rounds(bullets for the ignorant) and anything that is semi-automatic. That would leave revolvers and bolt action weapons that you might be able to have in your home, IF locked up appropriately and licensed. That is not in keeping with the second amendment. And basically, it would be doing away with our gun rights, or limiting them to the point that the criminal and terrorists would have free reign. Why do you think that these scumbags always hit soft targets in gun free zones? Because they are too cowardly to point a gun anywhere that might have someone with a concealed weapon.

None of the gun control bills attempted in congress would have stopped any of the shootings we have had. It was all for show and for their campaign, because these congressional liberals consider the voter to be stupid.
