Default Health care reform? When one reads the following:

http://mcconnell.senate.gov/record.c...320943&start=1

And then reads and listens to Pelosi. Reid, Obama......how can they be so opposite without some one lying.

On the surface, no facts available yet, some one is lying. No not being political....lying.

I know the first attack will be on the messenger i.e. McConnell.....try to resist........

The travesty as has been said time and time again is we the people who are about to let it happen....gambling that the fast track rammit and jammit is for real.

Forget partisan politics. Why does the bill which is still not written have to be subjected to an arbitrary time table?
Why is Obama so eager, that he has said when all gets said and done he does not care what is in the bill as long as one gets signed?

How about a simpler question: If the current Medicare system is going to go bankrupt, how can we add 30,000,000 more people into the system with no revenues to cover and still not go bankrupt?

The bill, the false personal Obama objective, the isolation of the writing of the bill, the arbitrary stances of Pelosi/Reid, the insistence on a specific date to be done whether it is good/bad....written/not written, discuss it later and work it out later but just pass it....

does this sound like a legitimate process? If yes, please provide why that is.

Means little but I agree with you BTK.

I cannot understand the rush to do something that does not even come close to addressing costs or anything actually that our President even talked about or promised while campaigning.

When you say we MUST have this done because 7 other Presidents failed to do it....when you call on folks and tell them that disaster awaits if this is not passed...when you do this when the majority of americans are opposed to this happening...well....as George Will said today in his oped...

"A person can only be a novelty once, and only briefly, and charm, like any commodity, when used uneconomically becomes a wasting asset. All this is pertinent to the Senate health care debate, now coming to a curious climax amid another glut of careless grandiosity.

Supporters of the Senate bill say it will insure the uninsured. The Congressional Budget Office says 24 million of the 46.3 million uninsured will remain so. Supporters say it will lower aggregate and individual health care spending. The government's Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says the nation's health care spending and insurance premium costs will increase.

And you must consider when having this discussion, the second sentence of this editorial...

"And the president pushing this agenda has, with his incontinent hunger for attention, seen his job approval vary inversely with his ubiquity.

It seems that the political atmosphere which in the era of "change" was to be more even tempered has gotten so much worse, politics from the WH is simply today business as usual !

Granted both parties play the game, but a WH elected on a premise of reducing this game has elected and I say ELECTED...not forced....to play serious politics. Notice the more and more mention of Rahm Emanuel and David Axlerod in the news...they are folks who make their living PLAYING POLITICS..pure and simple !

You are correct BTK...it does not even SOUND like a legitimate processs !

Default As I said when he was elected. I will reserve judgement

(right now I have opinions and feelings) until he makes his first address to the nation in January.

Doesn't his continued march and holding the banner for health care reform raise the question....if the Dems themselves are in a quandry not liking what is underway....if the general population is against the health care reform......how can he continue to march forward in the face of current events? Ratings? Polls? His own party?

Is he so caught up in getting something done other POTUS have failed to do he considers it an accomplishment....even if it is wrong? I think the answer to that is yes....confirmed by his statements he doesn't care what finally winds up in the bill, just get something to me we can label "health care reform".

I personally think the bill needs to fail and crash and burn to get his attention.....maybe!
